***2022-23 CFB Bowl Games Thread***

I've watched them a couple times this year and have not been impressed they must've beat up on 7 bad teams
Yeah, I'm not a fan of Holgerson's coaching. If I were Houston I would be looking for somebody else for moving into the Big 12 but I think Dana and the Cougars big donor Tilman Fertitta are real close so probably nothing will happen.

Houston woke up in the 2nd Half and took the lead with 20 seconds left to win it.

The attendance at these bowl games have just fallen off a cliff the last couple of years. A half full stadium would be considered a huge crowd at this point. Stadiums aren't even close to a quarter full.

To some extent, players opting out = fans opting out.

On top of tickets not selling, I also wonder how many sold tickets went unused this week, due to weather/travel. Below-zero wind chill in Fort Worth. 25 degrees and windy in Shreveport. Boise being Boise.

Weather definitely could be a factor. Even if the destination is warmy-weather, fans still may have to travel out (or back) from areas w/ winter conditions and may opt-out even for uncertainty of return trip (or flights could be canceled). I'm sure it doesn't apply in plenty of cases (perhaps there was a full week planned around the even, or such).

Probably some unused tickets because of the cold but I don't think very many are getting sold in. the first place.

Watching the Hawaii Bowl and that feels like it is an entirely different planet compared to the weather we have been dealing with the last couple of days.

My sister and her fiance' are in Hawaii, she was texting me pics yesterday. I was jealous.

Who knows how this Oklahoma St-Wisconsin will go. A lot of transfer/opt-outs in this game.

Perhaps they were flying Southwest?

Wisky pretty much controlling the game early and poof just like that the Pokes house a long TD to take a 7-3 lead.
