I think also he was pissed at Adams for trying rush him back from his injury. Wild times right now in Lubbock.

There are some programs out there who have been hammered by their fans and media because they have dived in head first to NIL stuff in regard to recruiting. I've come to believe that those places who are looking to take the collective NIL money and distribute it over whole rosters are going to win out in the end. Alabama had an OL starter leave because his backup was making more than him. Then you have this TTU example. There's rumors of many many issues regarding jealousy or lack of motivation from certain guys who got theirs already. This was always pretty predictable but a lot of people, in an effort to get the kids the money they rightly deserve, just wanted to wish that all away. I think that there's going to be an opportunity for programs to use NIL very efficiently across their whole roster to help the players while also having an environment that's cohesive. Pay for play with a bunch of 18-22 year olds with poorly adjusted handlers and no real contracts isn't going to work out well.

In the pros they are all getting paid. That’s the difference. Hell even league minimum is nothing to sneeze at for playing a game for a living.
Not just that - it's a million times more consistent and relative to ability in the pros. NIL is getting handed out pretty randomly, depending on the school and the player. Not to mention a lot of it is rumored, so it's not exactly known who's getting what.

Also, when you don't have a salary cap, you're getting a lot of strange deals out there reported like Pack at Miami.

I selfishly really enjoy hearing stories like this. I want total chaos, destruction, boosters losing alot of money, and players infighting in the locker room.

Burn it all down.
Love hearing it about conference rivals especially. Something has always struck me as shady about Adams too.

I mean, hell, why stop at one transfer? Maybe go collect some of that sweet Longhorn cash long enough for a cup of coffee, and then see what the SEC schools are paying.

TBH he would compliment that team very well and make them national championship caliber lol

Good? Who is he? Is this a good thing? Is he transferring to ISU?

Thanks in advance.
Iowa State went after him first go around. He is a scorer and a great rebounder. Hopefully they go after him this go around also.

So is this just because it's still first semester?

I'm intrigued by how this may play out. Let's say you are El Ellis for Louisville. A good player on a team that's obviously going nowhere. Why would you not put your name out there and see if a contending team will pick you up?

Also their salaries are public and there are competitive balance rules in place.
Thats true for pro salaries, but not the NIL money the pros get. That's the problem with college right now. The lines are blurred between NIL money and salaries. It's not supposed to be about pay for play, but it's being treated that way with the collectives.

How in the hell is this a thing?
I’ll believe it when it happens. I don’t know how, having just entered the portal, a player could possibly know that. New school could try a waiver, but I’d be pretty surprised if he sees the court before next December.

Everyone in college gets paid. You're right, though, getting tuition + room/board + stipends is not the same as $600k or whatever the league minimum is plus all the other benefits that comes with being a pro athlete.
Full ride and that stuff is not the same thing otherwise we wouldn’t have even gotten to this NIL mess. People with a brain understand the value they are getting with a potential full ride athletic scholarship, but it’s not the same as actual money in the pocket to spend. And these ones that are getting massive NIL were full ride scholarships too, so it’s all income.
