Fardaws Aimaq

Somehow pro sports make it work without jealousy becoming a huge locker room issue (maybe I'm wrong about that and just don't hear the stories?) College aged kids aren't as mature though, so not surprising it would be a bigger issue there.
There's a definite psychological difference between being paid hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars when your teammate makes more and being paid nothing while your teammate makes a lot of money.

I mean everyone gets paid and it's a professional business environment that has collective bargaining. Very different from "amateur" sports with absolutely no rules.

Would be a little surprised if Fardaws returns to play college basketball next year. He's almost 24 years old and a foreign guy. Likely could go start making money professionally. Not sure what he has to gain by coming back.

Correct. I mean imagine going to work, which we all now know and acknowledge college sports are a job, and you don’t get paid while some members on your team are getting paid. Seriously that would piss anyone off. Especially when you do work that contributes to the team’s success and those that are getting paid.

Maybe that RB or QB isn’t all that great if his line decides to maybe take a play or two off to send a message. As much as I hate Texas, the one smart thing they did was that $50k for every lineman NIL deal. You have to pay the entire team in some fashion or it will eventually crumble.

In the pros they are all getting paid. That’s the difference. Hell even league minimum is nothing to sneeze at for playing a game for a living.
Exactly. How would it feel to be an upperclassman O lineman at Iowa and some backup Michigan QB comes in and gets 6 figures to your $0? This isn't a shot at Iowa, it just happens to be a good example. Plus he seems to be good at shooting his mouth off a little bit. So maybe it is a shot at Iowa.

I thought foreign guys couldn't get NIL deals? What's the exact rules with that?

I'm guessing this will get brought up every time someone transfers now - but this may be relevant:

Not all transfers, but certainly mid-season transfers, especially from someone who just transferred in and rumored to have gotten a deal. Definitely the logical place for the mind to go. Did the NIL payment not show up because he was injured, so he flipped the bird to the school? Who knows, but with zero transparency it makes sense to wonder

That's a good point. I've seen this in reference to Jaz a few times. This could get really interesting. I'm sure no schools would be paying foreign athletes NIL money under the table though. That would never happen.

From the Texas Tech message board:

"Fardaws is homesick and sounds like he's transfering closer to home - UW maybe. Fine. but instead of manning up he blames it on CMA. afm.

The players don’t like Luke Adams, coach Adams son. And he’s not qualified for his role. Back to the gutter for the tech basketball program.

Isaiah Fisher - our other canadian needs to probably transfer closer to mommy too.

Chris Beard -
Who other than OJ would have "leaked" an affair about CMA to remove the spot light off of him.

NIL - I don't know the deal between CMA and Womble but sounds like the two have a disagreement over NIL agreements".

Sounds like the Beard? thread from CF is shifting from Austin to Lubbock....

Everyone in college gets paid. You're right, though, getting tuition + room/board + stipends is not the same as $600k or whatever the league minimum is plus all the other benefits that comes with being a pro athlete.
