I think he is going to turn Colorado quickly, but not to the extent we are all thinking. that being said, I think he will compete with Washington, Utah, Org (once UCLA/USC Leaves), but will end up taking either another big name job or go NFL mode.
I could also see him staying in the College game because it still pays a lot of money (sometimes more) and he can use his status and he looks like a power guy. NFL doesn't give a crap who you are if you are not getting to the playoffs and winning.
Deion seems to me like the kind of guy who wants to be the center of attention at all costs. You can be that as a big time college coach but in the NFL nobody really gives a **** about the coach it's about the players. I think being a head coach at a power 5 school fits his personality and his need to be that center of attention.

This is going to go one of two ways, either a spectacular success or a spectacular failure and I'm here for it either way.

Yeah college really really boils down to who you hire to run the offense and defense. Also, the head coach is more of a face of the program type dude. Saban and all of them are just the face. Can't wait to see how big this works or don't work.

Targeting an Alabama assistant as a "top-level coordinator role." Charles Kelly.

Not sure if this has been dropped in here.

If we didn't know college ball was a business. **** your degree. Get out of here.

I mean...I have no idea if CU's players are truly that bad, but if I was already third string I'd have walked out before I chanted along with him LOL. I might have even threw a couple ones in the air and made it rain.

We'll see. No matter how well he recruits at CU, his talent advantage is going to be tiny at best compared to what it was at JSU.

That's a good point.

He had a great mind for game as player, can anybody really know how well he coached at JSU effectively having a power 5 roster feeding in vs FCS?

I guess Texas in the past decade before maybe this season is the example to look at getting every player they want but not winning.

If I had to guess on a trajectory for Deion it'll be that he gets great talent for a couple years but doesn't do much with it and by year 3 he's gonna bolt for somewhere else.

I'm just assuming this is the way Matt Campbell established the 5 Star culture at ISU.

I'm Gucci and you're some kinda Trax shoe your mom picked up at K-Mart back in 1975

I guess I'm not as offended by Deion telling those guys they may look elsewhere. The portal fills up quickly. No sense dragging them along if your plan is to replace them.

There must be a way for it to work, because Miami kind of had that Deion vibe back when they were winning and wasn't just all cheating because other programs were cheating in similar ways.

But I have to think the last decade of Texas is just as likely with them playing mediocre football while constantly glossing themselves and getting the best recruits and most media money.

It's not awkward for Deion...it's really awkward for some of the guys clapping along. It'd be like Twitter employees cheering a week ago when they were told they were looking at a coin flip firing.

Better than lying to them all they are the key to the future...but awkward to frame it like a motivational speech.

JSUs soph class this year has several 4 star guys, and was just ahead of ISU and CU, and they were playing in a bad FCS league.

Obviously you have to win games, but I don’t think anybody should be too impressed with a P5 roster going undefeated against a bunch of SEMO type teams.

EDIT: Actually SEMO is probably better than anyone JSU played this year.

It will be interesting to see. I’m sure he can get a great boost in talent, and the league is going to be fairly weak.

But the “why CU” question is probably due to the reasons I state here. There’s not a P5 school anywhere that will enjoy a talent gap like he had at JSU.

I mean Colorado was absolutely awful. Deion will bring in enough talent that they will at least be competent. If he hires the right coordinators they could be pretty good.

Colorado has always carried to torch for running their football program the right way and recruiting with integrity.

Will be fun to watch how this all plays out.

I agree, I actually have no problem with it. If that's the culture he wants to set, need to set it right away.
As others have said, not a good look to do it in a team meeting, where video is clearly going to get posted/leaked. Should have done that in smaller or individual meetings.

Or maybe he wanted that video out there. He definitely seems like a guy that DGAF
