This season really puts last season in a different light. A better OC might have won us a couple more games.

The o-line incompetence and offensive system have held this program back from our 10 win ceiling
I understand Campbell has been a wonderful coach for us but holy smokes this guy has been whipped these last two years. He is not above criticism at all. This falls on him and if he doesn’t figure it out with the offense his ass will be fired sooner rather than later.

I said the same thing. We don’t seriously rush the punter much (or didn’t tonight) and we don’t set up anything for a return. It’s like we are just going through the motions on ST.
Add in that the two missed kicks today could have been better kicked by a high schooler. Embarrassing all around.

Need to check out the kid from Lewis Central, Boston Hensley. He was booming 45-yarders right down the middle that would have been good from 55 during warmups for the 4A championship at the UNI Dome Thursday night.

On one of the goal line runs. We ran to the left side. Had 3 tight ends leading. One made a block, two rsn into the endzone hitting no one and the corner flew in and dropped the back for a loss. If either the receiver makes the block or one of the TEs who thought there job was to show the back where the endzone was, would have made a block, the back would have walked in. Totally agree. I don’t understand why he should be above criticism…. this is his show…. period. He owns it. He signs off on everything you’re seeing on the field…. including what Manning is running out there.
If CMC is not happy with what he’s seeing out there on the OL and play calling…. then he HAS to make changes or he has to go. It is not acceptable.
But to think his job should be safe no matter what is stupid.
CMC has not earned the right yet to be as stubborn as Ferentz. Ferentz has had a ton of success of the last 23 years including multiple BCS Bowl Games.
Agree. There was also a point in time where firing McCarney and Rhoads seemed incomprehensible.

This was another well thought out illusion, I mean, misdirection, which has occured many times. And of course, it has nothing to do with the play calling.
If there WAS serious intent on calling an actual play that might fool the opponent during said timeout, let alone succeed, a false start, delay of game, or other penalty would invariably occur.
So you know, best to just stay with the known product, the up the middle handoff, R or L tackle and a cloud of dust, after a one or two yard loss. If R dosen't work, go L on following play.
Every time we run the ball it looks like our guys are working way too hard to get what they get. Every time. Nothing about the run game looks smooth or easy, even when it works or the RB makes a little something out of nothing
