It the new modern day applebees. everyone has to go.People still go to Texas Roadhouse?
Already announced, they're building on it in 2024. 18th and Wiegel. If what I heard is true, Fareway owns land a mile west of Centennial as well.
Hopefully it forces Hyvee to do something about their prices. The Waukee store specifically is so bad about price gouging. I've always noticed that things at that location are sometimes $1-$2 more there than the Jordan Creek one. They've been rumored to go into that spot for 10+ years but Hy-Vee was always fighting it at the City Council level (behind the scenes) to avoid the competition for groceries. Glad progress won out.

We hate that Hy-Vee, way too busy. They've been rumored to go into that spot for 10+ years but Hy-Vee was always fighting it at the City Council level (behind the scenes) to avoid the competition for groceries. Glad progress won out.
I mean, I'm sure it's not a scratch kitchen, but they're running more than microwaves back thereIt the new modern day applebees. everyone has to go.
I think the food is good. We have been to the one off of 86th in Johnston a few times and I always marvel at the staff. They seem to know exactly where everyone is all the time. The Texas Roadhouse in Coralville that we went to (for one time and one time only), I actually thought the food was pretty good for cheap steakhouse fare.
Now, the bro country cranked to 11 and tsunami of rugrats crashing around is an entirely different matter.
Our family is the rare franchise fan - always know what you're going to get wherever you go. With me and the boys being incredibly picky, it's a necessity. As an Ankeny resident, I wish we had more local eatery options and I'm assuming you residents of Waukee feel the same about your community. I'm just guessing its easier and less risky to be a franchise owner rather than doing your own thing, which is too bad but I get it.
Waukee just has a Hyvee, Fareway, McDonalds, Culvers, Bbops, Taco Bell, Burger King and Pancheros. So yes, please bring more retail and restaurants. That’s all we need.. more retail/restaurants.
