***2026 Minnesota Vikings***

This is why I think adding another receiver at the deadline would be a good move. If you get someone opposite Jefferson who's able to get deep and take some pressure off of him, he's going to see better opportunities. Frankly, it's amazing that he's having the production he is, considering the attention he's getting from defenses. It's a testament to his talent.
Correct, but JJ is coming into a contract year too. Got to leave enough room to resign him and some other pieces. The D will need a lot of help next year.

Lose Hitman
Lose Hicks
Lose Pat P

Feels like the offense is built to last a while with the great young Oline (outside of Ingram). Would hate to lose out on JJ just because we went for another receiver this year. I think Adam makes a great long term WR3 (same role as Fitzgerald) for a while yet. But definitely need another piece here soon.

Any idea who might fit that description and be available for trade? I wouldn't want them to "spend" too high as I don't see this team being in the position of going all in on this season. I would love to be wrong, but I don't see this as a team that is a WR away from the Superbowl. I'd hate for them to be stuck in mediocrity by trading away quality draft capital for further building opportunities to get one potentially expensive receiver.

Hicks is under contract for next year. He signed a two year deal. But you're correct, they'll need to move some pieces around to make room for Jefferson. That said, the first year of Jefferson's contract is not going to have a huge cap hit. Look at Tyreek Hill. He got a big contract this year. His 2022 cap number is around $6 million. AJ Brown? 5 million. Deebo? $7 million.
The first year isn't when the big cap hits come. It's the subsequent years.

I do think Reagor is still learning the playbook as well. I wonder if we get him more down the field opportunities down the road once he is a little more acclimated.

I think he is what he is at this point. Wasn’t crazy about that deal to begin with.

Where’s everyone at on Joseph?

He’s lost it past 50 and misses an absurd amount of PATs, but he’s been lights out on sub 50 yard FGs. We don’t win the New Orleans game without him.

I think Zimmer’s open hatred for kickers was a huge liability and turned everyone into a head case. KOC seems to have a very different approach, and I could see him riding this out a bit.

My lean is to keep him. I just dont know there’s a better option out there.

It seems to me that in most cases during the season, the devil you know is better than the one you don't when it relates to kickers.

I think you keep him for now. He hasn't directly cost us a game yet, and has won at least one (NO).

Might think more on going for 2, though.

That's a big move. With Irv Smith getting hurt (again) there were rumblings that they could be looking for a tight end, but I didn't expect them to make a splash like this. He's got a ton of potential.
