I am not a coach. I am a fan. I’m sure they know things I don’t know.

However, for the life of me, I don’t understand why it SEEMS like we are setting up our kids to fail. Oklahoma is loaded with 4 and 5 stars, and yet, they are CONSTANTLY shifting and mixing up formations to try to get a numbers advantage in the outside run game.

Our oline might not be great, but it seems like they’re being set up to fail. How many times do we run a shotgun dive when we have 3 OL against 2 DL and 2 linebackers?

I’m sure if we had PERFECT play from the line and the backs it could work, but.. we don’t have perfect play.

Teams with infinitely more talent are using scheme to their advantage to creatively get numbers. We run into a brick wall and rely on average (at best) talent to beat up on the opposing team.

This isn’t gonna be popular, and I’ve said it before and I’m sure I’ll say it again. I PROMISE you, Campbell has just as much to do with the offense as Manning.
Could be true. And if it is then he needs to get out of the way.
Just to be clear, and I'm not trying to be a ****, but my post is a fact and not an opinion. I worked for the team as a student, sat in on many an offensive meeting, and had a headset on with the offensive staff during games. Campbell has just as much input into game planning and play calling as Manning.

For the same reasons, it makes me chuckle when people ever suggest/praise Golesh. Dude is a HELL of a recruiter, but I feel pretty confident saying he likely has very little to do with the Tennessee offense and it's mainly Heupel running the show
I've been saying this very same thing, or almost, for the past 3-4 weeks. I felt the responsibility for our offense is on Campbell, not all on Manning. CMC runs the show, approves the scheme, game plan, play calling, all of it. To what degree, I was just guessing.

It's good to have your opinion and corroboration, as you were there and know the inner workings of the team.

Simply calling for Manning's head is only addressing part of the problem, if he were to leave. Campbell needs to let go of the offense, for the most part, and let someone else, someone new, take control.

I have also said this: 'I don't know if he can or will do that.' I believe that if he doesn't change the offense and relinquish control, we will continue to fall behind. Only it will be worse than it is now because the defense will slowly erode also, as we lose players and recruits overall, offense and defense.

It's just a no-brainer. It needs to be done. And soon.

You’re ******** and complaining constantly. You can’t get a Head Coaching job. What the hell have you ever accomplished? You’re just a complainer. Matt Campbell is the best coach we have ever had. I am willing to cut him some slack. Trust Campbell.
I hope you are right. But it is getting harder and harder to reconcile your opinion with what we see on the field.

Thus, I am starting to complain also. More than usual. Words are cheap. Seeing what we put out weekly, and comparing it to the rest of the clubs in our league/conference, we have a problem.

I can't explain it. Your explanation is as good as any.

No. Clean break needed. Maybe not so clean if Manning agreed to be OL coach. That would be the only way to keep Manning.

...playcalling, etc.

They'll be saying the same about us if we find a pulse in any of our last four games.
Don’t quote my stuff. I have no interest in your odd, multi-quote thoughts.

Not tough guy at all. You just have really stupid things to stay and I don’t care at all about what you think.
I've been called worse. I won't hold it against you. Not that you would care, I suppose.

Staff is essentially TOE.
but at least TOE can rely on a sh#t schedule to accumulate wins. We don't have that in the Big 12. There literally is no bottom in this league, well of course except us. But we never get blown out.

Fan base making coaching decisions. So what head coach does the fan base choose? Matt won’t stay under those conditions.
If Matt does not, can not, or will not make personnel changes for the good of the organization, then he doesnt belong as a head coach.

Probably the #1 most important job of any coach/leader is to get the right people in place under you.

I am puzzled by some of the calls but I think sometimes it is execution by the players. better blocking by the line would help. something is not right . maybe the chemistry for some reason is not there. don't know not at practice or in the locker room to see what is happening.

The Texas game this year is the only game I’m confident in saying the players lost the game. The game plan, play calling, etc was very good and we didn’t execute or made dumb mistakes. I can’t say that about the other 4 losses because our schemes, playcalling, and unwillingness to make in game adjustments was awful.

I mean how many times can you run a shotgun draw with zero or negative success before you say “hmmm, maybe we shouldn’t run that one again”??

It’s wild people get so defensive when it’s mentioned Campbell should make some changes to the offensive staff. And then try to turn that into people wanting CMC fired when that’s not being said at all.

But I guess the same people got defensive saying Prohm shouldn’t be fired too.
Cat Stevens and Maclowney would argue until they were red in the face it wasn’t a Prohm problem lol

See, you just don’t understand, running that play out of that formation is just setting up the perfect play-action pass out of that same formation. It’s sure to catch the defense totally unaware when ISU unveils that play late November.

Gotta play the long game here.

Just wait until this basketball season if ISU doesn't go dancing.

There have been posters over the last few years calling for CPR because he could occasionally beat bad Iowa teams.

The signs were clearly there during the Notre Dame game.

Total physical mismatch in that game. I thought Andrew’s would bring something as a S &C coach, but that hasn’t worked well so far.

Actually, I'll go one game earlier...the 11/30/2019 game against KSU, where KSU spanked ISU 27-17 in Klieman's first year. I remember that game, as it was a Thanksgiving weekend. Hall got held to like 60 yards, and ISU's OL was completely dominated. Lots of chatter on the board about the poor OL play, but the the soothsayers were telling us it takes years to develop good offensive lines...

2/3 the team looks really poorly coached.
I can’t get over CMC’s continued insistence there’s nothing wrong with ISU’s special teams. Paraphrasing yesterday’s announcers when the OU kicker walked into the end zone untouched on the fake FG, “OU coaches must have noted something on film they could exploit.” That’s an understatement - every team we play exploits our poor special teams play, and every week Campbell downplays it. It’s way past embarrassing, getting out coached each game!

Manning needs to go, I was fine with him up until the Big 12 championship game. We ate driving with a chance to win, guy panics and can't decide what play to call, so we end up scrambling around trying to get the play off before a penalty and Brock throws a stupid interception.

Fast forward this year, now need an inch and we have plays where they have to hike the ball 6 yards back and then the running back has to gain 7 yards with no momentum go get a 1st down.

My favorite play yesterday was the bubble screen with no blockers. The guy is just Brian Ferentz level bad, I can't believe Campbell would let this continue much longer.
