I think the main problem people are getting burnt out of crap disney is shoving out. Marvel is pumping out 1 good series every 5 they put out. Star Wars starts with a great idea until the rip the funding out and cut corners and left with ok shows. But they only put 1 out every 2 years.

Very true. It's unfortunate because Andor is the best series Disney has done, IMO. I hope that this is related to running this along side House of the Dragon and LOTR's and this viewership will pick up later. It'd be even more unfortunate if this loses a chance at additional seasons because of the poor viewership.

Doesn’t Andor get two seasons by design? 24 total eps?

I still think it's Mando. That series is still outstanding. Love Andor though, easily the best thing since Mando season 1. IMO those are 1 and 1A though and nothing else is close.

For all you VFX nerds out there like myself (I definitely hold the record on this site for whining about CG in certain movies and TV series), this is a very good article about the current new Stagecraft technology (the Volume), and the recent overreliance on it with certain productions. It definitely does a good job of explaining its benefits as well as its flaws, which are the same stuff I've been either complimenting or complaining about on here for a while. Don't get me wrong, I generally do love the technology and how it has enhanced our current VFX heavy genre movies and shows, but it's when it is used too much or for scenes it shouldn't be used for when I start complaining. For instance, its been great for shows like The Mandalorian or the new Star Trek shows which involved unique environments and relatively static characters and scenes, but less good for dynamic or your typical aw-inspiring daylight nature shots. During those scenes when using the Volume, your world can suddenly start to feel small, static and claustrophobic with weird lighting like we saw in Obi-Wan and Boba-Fett. This is perfectly fine and great for Star Trek, no so much for certain Star Wars shows. For example, not using the technology much in Andor is a lot of why everything looks and feels so good in that show. Anyway, I'll let the article do the rest of the talking.

Andor is a crazy good tv show. It's not just a great Star Wars show, it's one of the best things I've seen TV or Movies all year. It will never get the respect it deserves because it's sci-fi and it has Star Wars attached to it, but it is an amazing piece of film making.

Yeah, this last episode was yet another great one. Loved them bringing back the Shoretroopers from Rogue One.

100% it's the best genre show I've seen all year.

I found this article interesting and very true. Another one of the best parts of the new Andor episode was the introduction of the planet Niamos, where we see pretty much the Star Wars version of Cancun, which I thought was really well done and looked great. This article compares how much better Andor handled the Niamos scene versus how poorly and heavy-handed Rian Johnson handled his Canto Bight scene in The Last Jedi.

I think this last episode may have been my favorite so far. The Eye was brilliant of course, but that episode was kind of setup to be that way. For this latest episode you kind of expect a bit of a let down but somehow it just elevated the show by simply exploring the ramifications of the heist. Everything in the show has weight and consequence that you don't typically see in Star Wars. The writing is fantastic and extremely efficient with it's storytelling. They use brief flashbacks and a couple of lines to tell what happened to Andors adopted father and you understand what happened and it's impactful. I was excited for this show but it has blown me away with how well done it is. It's easily up there with Empire as the most well done Star Wars film making IMO.

I honestly didn't have too much of a problem with Canto Bight itself, it was just where they chose to employ it. A weird side trip in the middle of a space chase just didn't make any sense.

Great show, my favorite so far of the Star Wars streaming efforts. A gritty look at the beginning of the rebellion and what drove its participants to cross the line from acceptance of the Empires growing power. And its great to see new planets and cities.

I figured Andor demand would be somewhat lower due to the current high competition and the nature of the series. However, I'm shocked how truly low interest is coming in. Super sad to see with how good the series is so far too.

I will take a moment to say that I think this article is a good example of how Star Wars fans are completely full of ****. For YEARS, they've been saying they want a gritty Star Wars with adult themes and great production value. They have it now and nobody cares. I love SW, literally some of my first memories are sitting down and watching it. But I absolutely hate this fandom right now.

I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion but I've thought that all the Star Wars stuff on D+ has been way better than the Marvel series' have been. I've watched pretty much all of them but I haven't been able to bring myself to watch She Hulk or Ms Marvel because of how disappointed I've been in the shows before that.

I would probably agree with this. Mando and Andor are quite a bit better than any D+ Marvel stuff. Although I would say both franchises have struggled a little with consistency. If I were to do a quick Trigger ranking of them off the top of my head I would go:

Tier 1 (these are basically tied for me)
1a: Andor
1b: Mando

Tier 2
Loki
Wandavision (Not sure how rewatchable this one is but I really enjoyed the mystery the first time through)
Book of Boba Fett (honestly when Mando got involved saved this series IMO)
She Hulk (I had trouble placing this one in Tier 2, just a really enjoyable series and Tatiana was awesome as Jen/She-Hulk)
Moonknight
Obi Wan (had some awesome moments and some down moments)

Tier 3
Ms. Marvel (Started great and the last episode was good but I thought the middle was a confusing mess and it left out some great characters for multiple episodes)
Hawkeye
Falcon and Winter Soldier

I am sure I would rank them a little different if I thought more about it.
