Coach Weber gets a new gig ...

Is that Bob Huggins' psychotic grandfather from the mountains of WV?

Bruce is 65 now. The stress of competing had clearly gotten to him with all the losing.

Quirky but always a gentleman who loathed cheaters. He never did anything wrong other than attack the court like he was coaching AAU.

I'm glad for him. Always admire his ethics. He won more championships at K-State than anyone dating back to Jack Hartman in the 80s. And he's a good dude.

Not sure how he'll do on TV though. Thought Knight would be great. He wasn't. Al was the best. Fran is very good.

Good for him and I hope he enjoys it.

I never had anything against him at all; in fact he might be one of my now former favorite coaches in the Big 12.
Agreed. Was always a weird vibe from their fans....they never got over Martin leaving and didn't realize Bruce was decent coach and human.

The fanbase was split down the middle on both Bruce and Frank. Love or hate. It was an odd time. After missing the tournament last year, most everyone thought it was time for a change though.

Tang has put all that angst to closure, thankfully.

I have lots of friends that are KSU folks so i see some of their posts, seems like Tang really leaning into being accessible to fans, etc.

I've never seen a coach reach out the way he has to students and the fanbase. He's like the Roadrunner in that way, he's everywhere. But proof of his mettle will be on the court. We'll see. He was my first choice, for sure.

I never really cared much for Weber in the past, but my respect for him has grown in recent years.

I wouldn't think he'd do good at the TV thing, but best of luck to him!

This is cool.
He's had some well-documented issues with his voice since childhood. I like when networks are brave enough to give work to people with valuable insights who sound (or look) a little different. It seems like there are a lot of bland, cookie-cutter announcers out there.

Let's be honest, what the hell else is there to do in mini-Manahattan?
