17 hit with the top of his head. Its actually more dangerous for him than the ball carrier.
The Baylor kid hit with his face mask.
There are several plays in every game where a defenders helmet makes contact with the guy they're tackling. If our 2nd best player on defense is going to get tossed for that, then hundreds of players across the country are going to get tossed every Saturday if its called the same for every game. It was not a good call that hurt us. We played like **** for the most part so it might not have mattered ultimately, but its frustrating and not in the spirit of the game.

I didn’t see a replay at the game so this is the first I’ve seen that Reeder penalty. Wow that’s horrible

What’s most frustrating to me is that ISU never gets any calls at home. You might expect some of this crap on the road, but at home there should be a favorable whistle. Every other team gets one

Is that a legal hit by Reeder though? I don't think it is, right? That call didn't bother me that much.... unless it truly is a legal hit.

Face is different from crown. That's the difference

So a question....in the heat of the game, you honestly think that the refs could make that determination in the moment. Without a SINGLE review? They were THAT good to see everything you saw?

No
That's why none of them were called on the field.
But all were reviewed. Only the one that was clearly head down was called

You are not using your eyes. You're emotions are getting the best of your judgment
Lol, says the poster who thinks the hit on Brock wasn't led with the crown. That hit actually made contact with the ball carrier's helmet, too. If only one of those is targeting, it's not the one that was called.

The Baylor defender did not use their face. You are not using your eyes. You're emotions are getting the best of your judgment. Good luck the rest of the year.

And that was just 1! There were a couple others. That is clear

Poor defense, poor play calling, an indecisive QB, two turnovers, did us in more than the refs. They weren't good though.
I don't think we watched the same game. There was more to be desired from the defense, but poor? They weren't allowed to play. The refs set the tone with the targeting all the way up to that BS call on AJ.

The QB play I'll give, you, Dekkers had hirst first less than good game.
