We “won our Super Bowl” last week. Any fun ways you punished or terrorized the Hawks in your life?

My family has a standing bet. Fans of the losing team has to sing the fight song of the winning team at Thanksgiving. Not sure what I'm going to do yet but what ever happens will live forever on the internet.

I wore red to work on Monday. People asked why are you wearing red is that a coincidence? I said absolutely not a coincidence.Hawk plate.JPG

It wasn’t intentional because half my everyday wardrobe is Cyclone shirts, but I was wearing my “We Will” shirt on Monday morning when the Pantherhawk neighbor called and was trying to decide if he was having another heart attack. His wife was teaching school. I drove him over to the hospital and he checked out ok, I was guessing it was heartburn from all the garbage he probably ate during the game and the NFL games. I think he felt awful enough not to notice the shirt, cause even if it was his dying breath he would have said something nasty if he noticed. Tried to convince him to grill chicken instead of brats this weekend and cut down on the beer. He said life wasn’t worth living without beer.

I can't wait until we see my wife's sister in law. Last time after the MBB team beat down iowa she arrived yelling, "I don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear it." because she expected we would give her grief about the game. She expected it not because we have a history of doing that but rather because that is what she does. We told her that we don't do that - if she wants to talk about the game we can talk about it but we aren't going to be that kind of fan. If she says something similar about the football game I will say about the same thing but this time I will add that we expect the same courtesy in return.

A colleague is a Hawk fan and we have made a bet every year of varying degrees. We've bet colonoscopies, changing work profile pictures/signatures, icy hot on the... during the fantasy football draft, polar bear swims etc. Last game I had to get my back waxed.

This year I was fed up with always losing so I only bet a chipotle burrito and finally I won so it certainly hasn't been even.

Just wearing my Cyclone gear everywhere I go. My hawkeye friends and family tease me relentlessly whenever they win. I don't say **** and I think that bothers them even more.
This. They notice it. I just have a shiteatting grin on my face and nod. Although, when they do want to talk about the game and complain about their offense/QB issues, I have said a few times this week "you guys will be fine. Brian will take over as head coach soon and things will get all straightened out."

They do NOT like that comment.

I needled one of my colleagues who has season tickets.

He wasn't surprised they lost, and is hoping that the offense shows up.
Wow a hawkeye fan who's head didn't implode. For most tavernhawks beating Iowa State is their birthright. When we win it isn't because of anything Iowa State did. It's purely Kirk's hubris (well, there is some truth there).

While Iowa's defense and special teams are borderline elite as usual, the offense has really suffered from a lack of skill position players wanting to work in that system. But what's somewhat surprising to me has been the gradual decline of Iowa's offensive line play, and I think that may be related to the departure of Doyle.

Have had at least four separate occasions where Hawk friends said "I'm surprised you haven't said anything about the game yet" and I just replied "What's there to say? Just another win" and a couple of them it definitely got under their skin

Remember that BF was the line coach about 3-4 years ago.
