Let’s see. Make a few million bucks at Nebraska for four or five years before he’s fired because they’re nuts, or make a gradually rising salary at ISU for the next twenty?

My math skills aren’t great. Someone help me out here?

Too bad there is a third option of a high paying job at a program where failure isn't guaranteed.

I also can’t quite get over the phrasing of the tweet saying “it is HIGHLY expected” that CMC will be the next Nebraska coach. It just oozes entitlement and overconfidence from the Nebraska sources … Campbell is their first choice, it’s such a lucrative and desirable job, there’s just no way he’d ever turn it down. The “HIGHLY expected” is all from one side, and that just doesn’t seem like very good reporting to phrase it that way without any inside info from the Campbell side (and you know there isn’t any).

Well you know after hours of productive talks with his agent . That says it all.

Nebraska still hasn’t learned that floating coaching names and then getting turned down results in substantial egg on the face. Even if this isn’t coming from the AD if I’m Trev Alberts I’m telling his local media to STFU. I don’t think Campbell even sniffs the Nebraska job but what will make it more unlikely is a big season by the Clones. Say Campbell is their preferred candidate, if we make the CCG it will put a lot of pressure on NU to make an alternative hire, especially if they finish say 3-9 or 4-8 under the interim coach.

If the interim coach goes 4-8 they should hire him.

Campbell has way better chances at conference titles and Playoff spots at Iowa State than Nebraska…especially after OU and Texas leave. He has the opportunity to make ISU a consistent top 3 program in the conference, has access to the playoff, has a great relationship with his AD, controls all aspects of the program without substantial booster interference, built his culture - all things he doesn’t have at Nebraska. You think he’s leaving all of that for a few million more bucks?? No way.
CMC has plenty of better places if he just wants cash.

Nebraska needs to get over the fact it simply is not a blue blood anymore and likely never will be. It's role now is to be Purdue or Indiana (or Iowa). Don't lose to Georgia Southern (oops), spend money on your facilities and coaches (better get going Vandy) and serve as schedule fodder for Ohio State, Michigan and maybe USC.

Even Mrs. Inthesystem heard the dumb buzz about Campbell to Nebraska today which tells you how much dumbness there is out there.

Can Iowa State land some of the guys from the State of Iowa in the transfer portal from Nebraska. I felt like we got 2nd place about 5 times recruiting against Nebraska these last couple years.
We have won more than our share of head-to-head with them. A few that come to mind are both of our starting OTs as well as X. X actually took an official to Lincoln after he committed, but stayed with the good guys. X has to be as thankful as we are that he made the right decision.

Which program is this?

About 20-25 programs that have tons of advantages who might have a coach retire or get fired. Rather than a program where it's just as hard to win as ISU but people around the program are raging egomaniac pyschopaths.

Nebraska aspires to be Iowa now, which isn't bad, it just is...

i will probably get shitted on for saying this but Lincoln and parts of Omaha have some VERY nice mansions.

Is there such a thing as a mansion that's not very nice?
