1978 Punched through the window of a car age 12 sitting at a stoplight on Lincoln way kinda by St Cecelia church there with my dad. ****** black van with greek letters hand brush painted on it. Sweet smell of whiskey I can remember to this day. We won 31-0
Not a Hok but Gopher fan this week talked to me about the game and Iowa's bad week, starts popping off about Big 12 defense and how the scores are always in the 50s (not true).
I informed him of several B12 teams in the top 10 and 25 last year for defense.
'Well I don't watch Big 12 football'.
Me: Exactly. B1G fans are really uninformed.

Last year, a hawk fan tried to tell me that Petras was a better QB than Purdy because Petras was taller.
I’ve never understood their need to say “go hawks” to anyone they see wearing isu. It doesn’t affect me in any way, and I just think you’re dumb
Was in Vegas in 2019 watching the game at the Sports book in the Mirage. I was wearing an ISU shirt watching ISU run all over Iowa early. Some douche canoe Hok fan came up to me and yelled "go Hoks" in front of me for no reason. The rain delay came and I had to leave because I had tickets to a show, so I missed the rest.
Most are perfectly fine, it’s the rare few that we all remember.
2019 after the long delay game a drunk female Hawk in her 50s getting in my 11 year old daughters face after the game with a “sorry little girl, **** you, and **** the Cyclones”. Her less drunk male companion saw my reaction and my size and very quickly apologized and whisked her away.
Favorite is always an old coworker that called ISU the clowns, MooU, Clown College, not prestigious enough academically for Big 10, etc. Funny part was he graduated with an agronomy degree from ISU and started off at DMACC.

I will go to my grave never understanding why there are always Hawk fans at our away games.
I saw a couple Hok fans at our home game last week against SEMO. You can't fix stupid.
I've noticed a trend that the hawk fans who try to mock Iowa State as an academic institution never have stepped foot on the University of Iowa campus.
I've been to Iowa games in the past as a neutral fan, which I think is fine. Now I wasn't wearing Iowa State clothes either. Not sure the Iowa fan obsession with doing that.
Remember, if you are a Kirkwood student you can get Iowa student tickets. So In iowas mentality Kirkwood = UofI academically.
