Plus those two schools would dilute the BIG12's per school take, meaning, the leftover PAC12 probably make more per school at that point, decreasing their chances of coming
The way to add to the viewership of those PAC time slots is by adding fanbases that will watch at all times. That could be ACC or B12
As fans of a school that is underestimated, I would think some of you wouldn't do the same to others.

The more P5 schools that get culled, the better for ISU.
Wanting decisions to be made based on fear it could have been ISU only increases the risk it will be
I think this guy is a TCU fan. He did several videos last year for each of the expansion schools. They are somewhat humorous.

My conclusion: Big 12 either will: stand pat; add teams from Pac; merge with Pac; or, something else entirely.
The most notable is this person’s “guy in the room” says some in Big 12 think WVU and UCF are not good fits/partners. Also that UW/Oregon are not either, but everyone knows that would be a forced marriage and just a means to make as much as possible until P2 adds more
I’m guessing there are some at WVU and UCF wanting to make the ACC the P3. And maybe some in the Big 12 still holding on to the P5 days and don’t see having both mountain and east schools as fits. And maybe an element of selling PAC schools on not having to travel that far.
It would be negligent for the Big 12 to willingly add to the ACC.

Talks at some Pac-12 schools are going to intensify this week.
Colorado, Arizona, and one other Pac-12 school (unnamed) will have major internal meetings this week to discuss potentially moving.
Pac-12 media days (in 1.5 weeks) could be a milestone marker for schools to make a decision. He says possibly before that, but it would make sense IMO for schools to wait until after that for any of this to be announced.
Everybody in the Pac-12 is expecting ESPN to give an offer that they aren’t happy with. They are expecting that offer to come in any day now. If it is as expected (low), it could shift the tone of all discussions.
National reporters who have insiders in the Pac-12 saying everything is great are likely sourced to Oregon State, Washington State, and Cal, who have strong incentives to pump sunshine and run a PR campaign in the hopes of holding the conference together.
Smart money would be on Arizona State as the third school with “major internal meetings” this week but I find it interesting that he didn’t name the school. Let speculation run wild. Maybe it’s Washington.
I wish it wasn't necessary for any conference to implode thru all this, but I understand reality. As an ISU fan I can empathetic for Wazzu et al, yet remember Iowa State rarely has gotten benefit of doubt for similar upsides, usually dismissed as less-valuable.

It seems similar to the Big 12 situation a couple of years ago, but I think Texas and OU at that time pulled a lot more weight than Washington and Oregon.
I think the most likely scenario is going to be that no media company will overpay for the Pac to keep it together and a handful a schools will defect to the B12.
That will start a domino effect causing other schools like Oregon and Washington to probably join the Big 12, and we'll have another situation like the Big 8 + SWC => Big 12.
Pac will either go defunct or they'll backfill with Mountain West schools.

That Scheer report (Arizona 247 guy) behind the paywall also has stuff about Knight. He’s basically going off on his own trying to get the B1G or SEC to take Oregon. He’s doing it all on his own and the Pac-12 ADs are not happy with him. Must be hard to have to deal with that when you are trying to see if sticking together can make sense.
Scheer didn’t say this here but I believe he has said in a previous report that Knight is basically dead set on getting in the B1G or SEC and sees the Big 12 as far below Oregon. Not clear what happens when both those leagues tell him to lose their phone numbers though. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Knight tried to get Oregon to go independent and agreed to fund the program through that time because he is so delusional about the B1G eventually taking them.
It is so interesting to me to see Cal looking like they are on the outside looking in. They are the flagship public school in the most popular state in the country. They are in a top 10 media market. They have top tier academics. They have fertile recruiting grounds locally. I would guess they have a very well off alumni and donor base.
It just seems to show how much football quality and fan interest are driving this now. In the old model Cal would look as good or better than Rutgers or Maryland being picked up by the B1G. But in the new world their on field performance sucks and they don't drive fan interest in their market even though the population is huge. This certainly seems to be a positive for ISU and our fate going forward.

I'm fine with the B12 telling Oregon to lose our number as well if this is accurate. They sound like Tea$ junior. I think the parity, equality, and frankly lack of better options in the new B12 is how we find our strength and stability. Bringing in a school that feels they are above us and is looking to ditch us before they even get here undermines all of that.
