I don't like the talk of "destroying" the Pac 12 even if in a hyperbolic way the Pac 12 is "destroyed." This looks at expansion as a way to improve the Big 12 and just leaves it at that.

Agreed. But in case anybody is feeling sorry for the Pac-12, their authorized representative, Larry Scott, was making personal visits in Big 12 country to try to poach schools in 2010. So not shedding a tear if the Pac-12 breaks up.

The PAC was also approached about merging with the Big12 last year after OuuT left and laughed in our faces. Forget merging now that it happened to them. Pick off the schools that help us and move on.

Yeah, they've tried to (and did with CU) draw teams out of the Big 12 so no love lost there.

What it can come down to is that the Big 12 is a very strong conference and it hopefully will attract Pac 12 schools to join. And just like it hurt the Big 12 to lose schools, it will hurt the Pac 12 to lose schools. It's part of the process.

I think even losing Oregon State and Wash. State would be too much for the Pac. They would be down to 8 teams with very limited options. So, add the Beavers and Cougars, and I bet the Arizona schools would bolt toot suite!

Add their crappiest programs? You will not be getting my vote for Big 12 commissioner lol. The Arizona schools are the key. Makes sense regionally, and it's well known that they weren't thrilled with the PAC 12. Add them, and you achieve the same effect, but with decent programs in case no one else comes.
