Lots of tweets from a former player and it appears other players are starting to come to his defense.

This is the player who refused to go in a game when there was 2 min left? Yeah that's all I need to know.

How bout we not compare overworking athletes to decades long, systematic cover up of rape and child sexual abuse just because we have to hate Iowa.I've always felt P.J. Fleck was phony. From the row the boat mantra, to him wearing the shirt and tie on game day, and just a lot of theater... Worst yet he gets paid a ton of money in the off season to do speaking engagements. I have no doubt a ton of assistants have to think while he does this, "man, it would be nice to have more support in the RECRUITING efforts." He seems like a motivational speaker moonlighting as a football coach.
Having said all of that, this stuff is still Mickey Mouse allegations compared to the racist crap Iowa and the Ferentz regime have been accused of. I will stand by it the Rhabdogate was one of the worst cover ups in college football outside of the Baylor Briles scandal and Penn State. How Iowa skated by on firing Doyle and retaining Brian F is still ridiculous. I predict Iowa's lawsuits will resurface this summer though b/c they have not settled this yet. That's a flamethrower of a story when it comes back in the news cycle.
We have friends that live next door to him on Lake Minnetonka and we've been around him during summer get togethers. He's an odd duck.
Even Gopher fans don't like him. A friend mine who played for the Gophers years ago asked-- "How many programs have tried to hire Fleck away from Minnesota?-- zero."
The guy might be a used car salesman, but he is a winner, 20 games over .500 for his career. At Minnesota he is 35 and 23 with a tie for first and tie for 2nd in the west, has taken UM to 3 bowl games in 5 years, winning all three included an Outback bowl. What a shock you'd have a dumb take on this.
Alarson, you cannot defend it so you dumb it, about time to hit the ignore list for you.The guy might be a used car salesman, but he is a winner, 20 games over .500 for his career. I think you underestimate the level of TOE's sanctimoniousness. When it comes to this story, they have all moved on, and have shown they don't care. Their self-righteous attitude that they can do absolutely no wrong has them so far removed from reality, that even if this came back to front page news they would laugh it off just like the first time. Hell KF has already gotten rid of the entire diversity board that was put in place to keep him and his program and their racism in check.I've always felt P.J. Fleck was phony.
