Not exactly sure.
Used to be when I officiated, and still should be today. A high inside pitch takes care of this.;) It shouldn't be a HBP, as the batter is not making an effort to avoid the pitch.
You don’t need to try to avoid it, you just cant look like you are initiating the contact.

I didn’t see it mentioned in this thread, but a batter got to take a base because the ball hit the hanging strap on the elbow guard. I don’t remember the game but the former Olympians we’re doing the game and couldn’t believe it.

Similar play happened in the Okie St vs Arizona game. Okie St hitter felt like something on her elbow guard got hit and went ahead and took her base. Umpire called her back and they reviewed it. Ruled she wasn't hit. Then she hit a double I believe.

They have umpires at every base in the Regionals through the College World Series but they still can’t see slappers stepping out of the batters box and pitchers crow hopping.

Between the crow-hopping pitchers getting several feet in front of the rubber and slap hitters running up on the pitch, they could practically shake hands

Not if I was behind the plate, needed to at least try to avoid contact. If you just stood there, you would stay at the plate.
Yeah, that's just a totally wrong interpretation of the rule. Batter owns the box and is not required to avoid being hit by a pitch. They just can't go out of their way to initiate the contact, but they most certainly can just stand there.

Even better that Oklahoma State was able to beat an SEC team.

Ok St. plays the winner of tomorrow's Arizona -Texas game on Monday. If they win they play in the championship series. If they lose, they get a rematch.

They need to stop allowing the lefty slappers to scrape the line away with there cleats. It’s getting ridiculous and good for the UCLA coach for going out and pointing it out.
You can go through an entire game and right the handers box the lines are still close to intact.

Should just get the line extended so the ref can see it. At this level, have it reapplied when needed. Would take a few seconds for a college crew to do it.
