I know nothing about Green, but Grill is strictly a catch and shoot guy. Someone suggested him at point and I just don’t think his handle is good enough for that at all.
Honestly, my hope is Eli King can be huge on the offensive side. He can score at all levels and has some ridiculous athleticism. High hopes, I know…

When I was 7 all the girls in my class wanted to be marine biologists and the boys wanted to be professional athletes. This isn't one of those " you can do anything if you put your mind to it" deals. The NBA is extremely elite and he made a horrible decision imo.

Go to an Iowa Wolves game sometime, the athleticism and size is off the charts and most of them will never sniff an NBA locker room. It's a completely different level than Division 1 basketball.
Freezing cold take. You think by coming to Iowa State for one year that’s magically going to change? AJ is 22 years old. Next year, the g league will still be full of insanely athletic guys that will never play in the league. AJ playing another year of college basketball isnt going to give him more size or make him more athletic.

I’m not saying it was the right or wrong decision. It sucks as a fan. But to say he made a horrible decision is your nut kicked ISU fandom speaking. That being said, I get it.

Kid is an academic All American that has done his complete and total due diligence. We have no idea what the NBA people have told him and we know that he possesses elite shooting ability.

I just can't imagine that he's doing this without knowing there's something in the pipeline for him. He's way too smart for that.
He definitely heard something different in the last couple of days than he’d heard up until that point. I know that for a fact.

From the beginning, it was going to take really negative feedback for him to come out of the draft so I'm not at all surprised. Everybody at UNI was borderline shocked he even went into the portal.

The Pacers workout went great and he's got an additional meeting with them as well as a second workout with the Hawks scheduled. I know things went really well with the Bucks too.

Just baffled at some of the guys that decided to return who would have been projected higher than AJ.

I get having pro aspirations but it just feels like those aspirations have to be over seas at this point.

He’ll get hooked up on a summer league team for sure but I’m not sure it’ll go further than that.

Absolutely agree with this.

No one mentions Lipsey. I know he’s small but what I saw of him in high school, I found encouraging. I guess people think we need points out of our point given our atrocious offense, but certainly feel like he could be a good facilitator. I felt anxious when most of last year’s team attempted dribbling except Hunter and Brockington and Tre.

When he got to ISUs campus for his visit he had not gotten the feedback he had been hoping for. Different teams look for different things I guess!

who in the world that has watched us play would have suggested him at point?? Of course I wouldnt know much about his handle, because I don't remember the guy dribbling more than once at a time or once a game.

Completely agree. Green wouldn't get drafted next season even if he made first team All-Big 12. He'd also be a year older which would lower his stock even more.

Someone earlier in this thread after the actual news broke.

I have awful memories of him on a break and someone coming from behind and just cleanly stealing the ball.

I don’t. I think he’s putting a huge amount of trust in what Milwaukee has been telling him. I hope it works out for him. I really do. But guys like him are a dime a dozen in the NBA.
Boy I agree, from what I have seen, I just am not sure where he fits in the NBA. Euro league sure. He's a good shooter but at that level he isn't better than anybody else, I have no idea what position he guards, or how he can ever get to the paint. God bless him, I hope he can make a team.

Way up there
I think it's most likely he was told playing against pros right now is his best shot, that he would have almost nothing to prove at the college level or that he'd be in the same boat next season regardless of what he did in college this year. The idea he needed to play p6 ball to take the next step is outdated.

You must have been sitting in on his meetings with NBA teams. Pretty awesome access you got.

Kid has been saying he's going to play in the NBA since he was 7 years old and he's betting on himself to get it done. I'm thrilled for him.
Okay.
