Hy-Vee's weirdest business decision yet?

Interesting thought. How would the approval go. I technically have non-vested shares of HyVee from college. I assume since they aren’t vested I would have no say. What about those who are vested?

My opinion is that Edeker is a freaking moron who has absolutely no clue what he is doing. He has almost single-handedly destroyed the company.
Yeah but he got to meet Drew Barrymore.

My dad thinks they are preparing themselves to be bought out at some point. They're cutting all of these positions to make the books look better.
ALDI hurting them? I'm 80% ALDI, 18% Walmart, 2% HyVee. I do gas-up a lot at the Hy-Vee gas station across from our Hy-Vee (Hy-Vee has been here since 1976), and the Hy-Vee station just re-did the interior and added a grill! Burgers, BLTs, etc. Gonna take on the McD's across the street!

I'm starting to wonder how long till the board of directors asks Randy to step down. Things really seem to be hitting the fan right now and that is not typical for how Hy-Vee has been run over the years.

Maybe stop sponsering races and the stupid Wahlburgers.

I’m good with that but why are you selling clothes, makeup, have 10% of the store dedicated to bath bombs and other specialty things that no one goes to Hyvee to buy, a gym (!?), etc, etc. And then when they don’t sell, you jack up the prices of your normal groceries to offset those loses.

Even with all that, I still went because it’s convenient. But once they closed the distribution center and they decided to have 100 personal shoppers dragging 4 cart trains around the store making me dodge them and my shopping experience horrible - I switched to Fareway.

Couldnt agree more.

The fast and fresh gas stations are the best thing HyVee has done recently. They’re building a new one right off the grimes exit on 141.

They’re convenience stores aren’t they? The closest former Hy-vee gas station/convenience store to me changed names. I haven’t been in one in ages. Kum&Go is my regular spot.

Yes with a decent amount of food. Some have a Smokey Row coffee shop connected to them.

I live up in Mason City. Hyvee recently brought in a bunch of out of town workers to rearrange all the store. Not update a single thing. We still have a wildly outdated store. Just moved all their products to different aisles

I now go to the store and can’t find anything I’m looking for. There’s stupid Whalberg stuff everywhere. They changed over half the checkout aisles to self serve. They rarely have any baggers and lines are longer and longer to get through checkout.

Mason City isn’t West Dsm. There is a larger percentage of price conscious consumers in our market. You screw up their shopping experience and aldi Walmart fareway becomes more attractive.

Hyvee has sunk a bunch of money into nonsense and done everything in their power to purposely make the shopping experience worse and worse. I now travel to the other side of town to fareway or target to get my groceries unless it’s an emergency. I honestly don’t understand the rationale in west dsm right now.

Yes and its typical gas station food.

This is why I’m on team Fareway. Except for on Sunday’s.
Their meat is good but everything else is garbage about them too. Their produce is terrible and they are kind of limited on certain things. I never understood the Sunday thing either. I mean when you are in that business don't you want to be open on the day everyone else is off?

Interesting, for produce it’s the opposite here.
