I thought we still had 3 schollies open. Why would anyone need to go?
If we take Bates, Basile, and Green. That would fill up all 3. Holmes is someone that our staff wants.

I have a hard time believing that Bob Jones would stay if he is option 5 of 5.

if we had.
Ward, Bates, Basile, King, and Jones

Because lots of people despise key parts of our sweet 16 team from last year.
I don't despise, just think it'd be foolish to not try and upgrade. Especially if it's a significant upgrade.

He did what we needed him to last year, and I appreciate that. But he was not, and will not ever be a focal point of a P6 contending team.

I feel like it's gotta be unlikely both Bates and Basile end up committing, and I don't love the idea of ever pushing a player out.

But Jones' minutes in that scenario would be very limited.

He gives us 5 more fouls in the middle where it is crucial!

I don't like our odds at this point in time on Basile, so this is just hypothetical situation.

I don't think it'd be pushing him out, more or less him seeing no path to PT, and choosing to part ways himself.

In a perfect world we wouldn't get to that situation, but I understand what you're saying. Idk a lot of people that would be okay with the role of "sit the bench until we need you to foul".

If there’s a possibility Biliew reclassifies and we have a shot at landing him, I wonder how the staff will approach that with the timeline of things. Obviously it’s possible to push a guy out but we saw TJ not do that last year when we probably could have landed Hawkins so who knows his stance on that now. Though you also have to weigh the risk of holding on to a spot for that long for a guy that’s not a lock. Will be interesting to follow

I'd still take both. If we do then we can hold out hope that Bob Jones transfers. Then that would open a spot back up for Holmes and/or Green. (Best best case scenario)

Only saying that because it'd be nice to have a offensive threat in the post.

Although I'm hearing that people around our program think that Bates can develop a 15-18 foot jumper. Not stretch to behind the arc, but keep defenses honest.
Jones won’t be the one that transfers. Someone who wants to start would transfer, that’s why both wouldn’t commit.

I can promise I'm not twins.

Just a Cyclone fan that likes talking about the Cyclones. Since my wife and co-workers (mainly Hawkeyes) don't like to. I figured this was the next best thing.

I didn't expect so much backlash for posting what I'm hearing/thinking. Lolz
Most of us definitely appreciate you sharing what you are hearing! Don’t let the few crazies on here discourage you.

There is an unwritten rule that says you do not post pay board information, whether it be CF or 24/7, on the free board. Kind of like stealing second base when your team is ahead 10-0 late in the game.

Some feel that’s what you have been doing based on the information you posted. Hence the backlash. I personally don’t care, but it irritates others.

I don't believe you hold an open roster spot unless you miss on targets through May and the staff doesn't see any other options to improve the roster.
If you absolutely knew Biliew would have the credits to reclassify, be cleared by the NCAA by the season, would commit to ISU before the end of the summer and know he won't ultimately turn pro late then I could see the staff going that route. That is a lot of IF's for my comfort.

As we saw last year when ISU had three spots open after August there can always be attrition late if Omaha does become an option.

Well I didn't know that, so I appreciate you letting me know. I just want to talk about it, and this is the best way to do so.

He doesn’t even have CF Premium. It’s fully possible he knows things from other sources. CW is not the only person on Earth with this knowledge.
