NFL: ***2022 NFL Season Thread***

No doubt the talent is there. Hopefully their medical eval on his durability is just as accurate.

If they can get him and he stays healthy, he would be the steal of the draft. He was one of the best freshman cornerbacks I’ve seen.
Sounds like Stingley wowed at his Pro Day. Minnesota might need to move up if they want to take him or Gardner. I've been intrigued by some mock drafts showing Kyle Hamilton falling. I'd love to see him in the defensive backfield, in Minnesota.

I could actually see Minnesota moving up a couple picks to make sure they can get Stingley at Cornerback. That seems to be the biggest hole in the roster right now. But assuming Stingley is gone, and of course Gardner as well, I wouldn't be upset with trading back in the first round.
Any relation to the Stingley that was injured a few yrs ago? Or was it a Stingley that did the injuring?

@RapSheet: The #Raiders and star QB Derek Carr have agreed to terms on a 3-year contract extension worth $121.5M, source said. The agreement ties Carr to Las Vegas through the 2025 season. He is already the longest tenured QB in the AFC.

Tough decision for Arizona. Even in college, I felt he was a better athlete than football player. Add in the numerous rumors of his selfish personality, that's a tough call to make.

Could they trade him to a team that is willing to meet his demands? What would they get in return for a disgruntled but young and talented QB? The coach and GM got extended so maybe they could look into a trade?

I'm sure they could trade him, but then Arizona must find another QB. When he and the team are ON, they are difficult to beat and I think that potential will make it difficult for the team to trade him, not to mention the fan base wouldn't be happy.

@AdamSchefter: Comp update: Colts are giving CB Stephon Gilmore a two-year, 23 million deal including $14 million guaranteed, per source.

I would love to hear his expectations in terms of pay...is he worth $40 million?

I'm curious how the Colts do this year. That division is right there for them. The Titans are good, but flawed. Jacksonville will be better, but who knows how much better? Houston will be bad again. Indianapolis should really expect a playoff berth this year.

I think that Matt Ryan trade could impact that team like the Stafford to Rams trade. Not saying the Colts are winning the Super Bowl, but if they get a couple good players in the draft, they are definitely in the conversation.

I don't know if I see Ryan the same way. Stafford was a guy who had a few good offensive pieces around him at times, but nothing compared to the embarrassment of riches that Ryan has had in his career with Atlanta.

I guess I feel like we barely ever were able to see the best of what Stafford could do in Detroit due to a lack of supporting cast, and when he got that supporting cast in LA, look what happened. But Ryan feels like has had plenty of talent surrounding him. Is the talent on this year's Colts team significantly better than some of the teams he's had in Atlanta?

I watched a couple Falcons games last year and he isn't the same player he was a few years ago. I get that his oline was atrocious, but I got the feeling, he is at that stage where he can elevate himself for brief moments and make great players, but overall the talent level is down. Maybe that's all the colts need, but I'm curious to see how it plays out.
