Schools aren’t putting together funds, fan bases are. No reason why this one can’t as well. The school should have a dept to help navigate NIL deals to cut out middle men but that’s the extent of what they can really do.

I get that the mega donors might not be in place but you can put together an impressive fund with a large number of small donors. Get 50,000 alumni to donate 100 a year and you can pay every single football and mbb player 50k a year. Just need someone to organize it.
We don’t have that many donors at the end of the day. Good luck with any of that. Least amount of donors does not translate into big NIL opportunity. We are who we are.

I'd be happy to donate to NIL, but people aren't going to just start throwing around checks without some verification/organization/guidelines. I don't think frustration, concern or puzzlement has to be considered complaining.

The only thing I've found so far for Tyrese is Cameo. He has requests turned off at the moment though.
Make a collective. Make it easy. Need a couple of current Former Cyclone Pro Athletes or known boosters to get this going.

JP needs to go to the $12,500 donor class and get some of them to pay players instead of the University.
Works if your dept has a Surplus - I suppose.
Our eventual new TV contract probably makes things much worse. Going to be very hard to balance the future books.
What Friendly Spartan says is 100% correct, except he way underestimates the cheapness of our fan base.

That's the biggest part. I will only use the bridge as an example and understand the reasons why it specifically couldn't have happened for that one.

But a part of being an AD now is convincing someone who wants a bridge or whatever that 10% or some other number should be going to an "unaffiliated" NIL fund and specifically for football and basketball.

I would bet some of my essential organs that AD's at schools like Texas are pointing potential donors in that direction, regardless of whether or not they're supposed to.

I would say the boosters at UT are already very aware of the NIL w/out the AD pointing it out.

JP and any other AD has a fiduciary duty to their school and Athletic Department. If they are telling donors "don't give the AD your money, give it to the players" they are breaching that fiduciary duty.

Hey dude, **** you, **** UNC, **** Roy Williams, **** Hubert Davis and **** your crooked ass program that should have received the death penalty ages ago.

I'll leave you with this:

Watch "Iowa State vs. North Carolina: DeAndre Kane's shot beats UNC – 2014 March Madness" on YouTube

That UNC fan made some
Valid points; but the DeAndre “Grown a$$ man” Kane vid never gets old

This is exactly what is happening at a lot of schools. I’m not sure if the uncertainty of a new media deal is cause for being more conservative in this regard for ISU but one could argue that getting the best talent into the revenue sports with NIL deals is doing their duty.

Can someone explain to me why this is the case? Seems like every time NIL comes up people talk about how cheap the fan base is yet also talks about the incredible support and attendance numbers? I’m just trying to wrap my head around how thousands will may for season tickets, parking, food, merch, etc but not pony up 50-100 bucks a year for NIL?
