CF did a great thing with player merchandise. It's more than you, I or the common fan has done directly, for our players. Just because a few dip **** fans can't see the big picture doesn't mean it's CF's fault

Someone should have just set up an NIL fund. Like the other poster said, there’s not really an easy way to give money to players right now.

So when we buy an Isiah Brockington shirt does he get a proceed for each sale or has he received an upfront NIL fee so CF can sell his shirts? How does it exactly work?

Yes, I thought NIL was for guys to to be able to to market themselves and do advertising and profit off “their brand”. I don’t understand how now it appears that donors or what not just pay players for just coming to the school.

So if a car dealership in Ames wanted to use our players in advertising then could and reimburse them along with businesses like CF and other companies who want to use players in merchandise. NIL seems like a vague way of just outright pay for play.
How could anyone be so naive to not foresee that NIL would turn out to be just an excuse for straight up pay to play?

Its not even about that. I mean I would love to give the kid, for example , a $100 gift card just to show my appreciation and support. Nobody seems to know how to do something like that. It seems like there should be a system put in place so if someone wants to help one of the players out it would be easy to do so.
The only thing I've found so far for Tyrese is Cameo. He has requests turned off at the moment though.

They could make the entire stretch from 30 to JTS flow in one direction before/after games. They partially do this on a daily basis on Dodge St in Omaha every day.

I mean, sort of. There is one middle lane that changes direction, and that works, I suspect, largely because it has been that way for 50+ years (probably more). I’m willing to be the signal/infrastructure work to turn University into a one-way road for 7 half-days each year might cost more than the bridge.

How could you be a college sports fan and not understand that

The funny part is under the current NIL deals giving him a $100 gift card for support would be against the rules (although would be very difficult to enforce).

ISU really needs a general fund set up outside of the school where people can donate in any amount that they want and the funds are evenly distributed to all football and basketball players. I am glad to see people coming around on taking action with NIL because when I suggested this during realignment talks people told me that wasn’t what NIL was and to **** off lol.

To be fair that is what NIL is really supposed to be. It allows players to profit off their name, image, and likeness. The just funneling money to players is not truly NIL. It’s just the result of a lack of rules.

NIL is going to ruin college athletics because it makes it like pro sports but not as good. Players should be able to capitalize on their NIL but whatever is going on now is not that.

And it sucks that they couldn't just make it that: you can make money via advertisements, your own product, whatever but that's it.

But like really subtly drop the word bridge.

On always being a Cyclone - “Don’t want to burn the bridge with Cyclone Nation”

On the timing specifics - “We’ll cross that bridge when it comes to it”

On who he thinks he’s going to - “Never cross a bridge before you get to it”

Why choose UNC - “Really want to bridge the gap with my skills”

In reference to Isiah G League rumor - “It’s all water under the bridge”
Now I want to blow that bridge up.

Just kidding. Kinda.

Very creative

I know it. We sell fire up the grill shirts while other schools are putting together NIL funds.
Schools aren’t putting together funds, fan bases are. No reason why this one can’t as well. The school should have a dept to help navigate NIL deals to cut out middle men but that’s the extent of what they can really do.

I get that the mega donors might not be in place but you can put together an impressive fund with a large number of small donors. Get 50,000 alumni to donate 100 a year and you can pay every single football and mbb player 50k a year. Just need someone to organize it.
