IMO it would be very short term thinking of Hunter to extract a few additional NIL dollars while limiting your minutes and playing time to let NBA Scouts assess your game and growth and become a lottery pick. Hunter is not a good enough shooter and has not been a consistent offensive threat for Lottery IMO so far. He certainly has potential. That potential is likely better revealed at Iowa State. North Carolina gets guys like Hunter constantly. Even better. I could actually see this playing out with Hunter at Iowa State. And a better NIL deal. Get your money out. Put up or shut up.
Jesus Christ, he was a top 3 point guard in the best conference in college basketball as a freshman. He also had to do more than any other pg in the conference, because we were so limited offensively

He’s a great player now, and will only get better as his shooting develops

Quit ******* tearing the kid down because he saw how much his friends were getting, and he wasn’t seeing anything from Iowa State fans.

“Don’t transfer to School X because they’ll recruit over you - stay at School Y because it will help you make the NBA” is a self defeating argument. If Hunter has an NBA future, then he’ll be a major contributor at any program. If he doesn’t, then he should get his NIL money while he can if that’s the most important thing to him. Can’t blame him for it. I personally don’t think he’s an NBA talent.

I am saying it might be wise to stay in your known situation where you are “the Man”. Flourish and lead a team like Iowa State back to the Tourney. Get more Pub. Go pro. Or go to NC. Maybe a bench player or a bit better. Hunter is an inconsistent shooter.

Hunter is great. Love him. Just saying the lure of those few dollars to move somewhere else may not be such a great deal. And all of this might be an effort to get Hunter some NIL money and stay at Iowa State.

What is Hunter’s NIL deal now? What are the deals that his friends are getting?

I'll leave the moment you conspiracy nuts stop spreading lies about my school to try and get them in trouble for tampering with some mediocre player we never heard of, when you know damn well UNC doesn't need point guards and has zero scholarships to offer.

Go find another random school to invent your batshit crazy conspiracies about you tinfoil hat wearing, meth smoking, hillbillies.

~ Iowa State had another 'mediocre' player last yr transfer to Gonzaga, and immediately started for the 'Zags this season. Tyrese Hunter has a much higher ceiling than aforementioned

~ Ya'll don't know much about college b-ball

~ North Carolina a top-ten state in 'hillbillies'
...... Ames and Iowa City are two of the most educated towns per capita in the country in comparison

nice try dooooshbag

oh, and Crocodile tears Roy Williams--- biggest f-king lying cheater out there, seemed to LOVE our hillbilly players in Iowa, from his KU days, to his UNC tenure

oh, and Paul Pierce was PAID$ to come to KU by Roy-Boy

It’s not a few dollars. $200k, or whatever it is, was for one year. The numbers go up if he’s wherever he lands longer

I have no idea what other kids are getting, but he does. And they, and their handlers, are getting paid

So Hunter gets donors to cough up some more NIL money for him to stay. Get out checkbook.

I already do.

I should ask if you do as well?

Not at your level probably. Small donor. Spend my money on kids and grandkids. I survived the worst basketball of my life a couple years ago. And survived. Typical cheap Cyclone Fan here. Not in Donor Lots anymore.

I have 3 teenagers and one that just graduated. We always make a point to donate what we can at the we can, I had been donating to the university as well, but that’s going to end. even though we can’t go to home games we donate above the director’s level

But seriously, Quit tearing down these kids that have opportunities, and take advantage of them

What's your salary? Can you give us a run down of your entire benefits package?
Tyrese seems like such a good kid so to support him my kid and I were trying to find some NIL merchandise to buy to support him. It doesn't seem to exist and that seems strange since he is the best player on our team. In our case it wasn't an attempt to find out every little detail about ithe income he might be receiving rather merely an attempt to support a kid that probably could use the money.

I have no problem with Tyrese Hunter getting NIL money. Great. If he wants to go to highest bidder. His decision. Just saying that a few more dollars someplace else for a single year might be a poor decision versus staying at Iowa State. At Iowa State, Tyrese Hunter gets top billing. In America’s Best Basketball Conference. Tyrese is the headliner.

Not tearing him down. Straw man.

Hey dude, **** you, **** UNC, **** Roy Williams, **** Hubert Davis and **** your crooked ass program that should have received the death penalty ages ago.

I'll leave you with this:

Watch "Iowa State vs. North Carolina: DeAndre Kane's shot beats UNC – 2014 March Madness" on YouTube

ha! and we beat them without our best player.

The obsession with player merchandise on here is really something. I think CF actually did Iowa State a disservice here because the average fan thought NIL was about corny t-shirts.

We're over 36 hours deep and no one knows anything. ...... The pay sites have no incentive at all to dispel this rumor either.
Thought the 'smoke' might be a clearer for those boys by now.
We're probably just all in the same boat. We'll know what Hunter and Green will do in a couple weeks.

Its not even about that. I mean I would love to give the kid, for example , a $100 gift card just to show my appreciation and support. Nobody seems to know how to do something like that. It seems like there should be a system put in place so if someone wants to help one of the players out it would be easy to do so.

To be fair that is what NIL is really supposed to be. It allows players to profit off their name, image, and likeness. The just funneling money to players is not truly NIL. It’s just the result of a lack of rules.

NIL is going to ruin college athletics because it makes it like pro sports but not as good. Players should be able to capitalize on their NIL but whatever is going on now is not that.

CF did a great thing with player merchandise. It's more than you, I or the common fan has done directly, for our players. Just because a few dip **** fans can't see the big picture doesn't mean it's CF's fault

Yes, I thought NIL was for guys to to be able to to market themselves and do advertising and profit off “their brand”. I don’t understand how now it appears that donors or what not just pay players for just coming to the school.

So if a car dealership in Ames wanted to use our players in advertising then could and reimburse them along with businesses like CF and other companies who want to use players in merchandise. NIL seems like a vague way of just outright pay for play.
