Why make a comparison like that at all? We know what he does. His record shows it. Until he does something that warrants a comparison like that you do not make a sleazeball attack. Stop being a POS.

Sure I did. I'm glad your schtick doesn't change, bro.
See, the conversation moved to stating that ISU would never tolerate such a thing, like so many fanbases think about their schools. So I pointed out that we would as national title contenders, which we would.

With that, I invite your next rant. Make it so, bro.

Hawkeyes and Cyclone fans in Iowa should think a little bit when they go to pull the levers every so often. There are no mega-car dealership groups in Iowa, because there is little to no growth. No one comes here to start a business outside of agriculture, so there’s no hot company that wants to make a mark in this sphere.
You are 100% correct. Don’t let the title fool you, this article details a lot about Iowas economy.

Check out this article from Des Moines Register:

Sluggish restaurant hiring drags down Iowa's economy in March as eateries struggle to find workers

You guys had the ability all year to put money directly in Tyrese’s pocket and get a personal video and it was only like $40. He must have turned it off recently though. Just saying

A good chunk of the bball team is on here too if you want to start throwing dollars: https://www.cameo.com/browse/athletes/ncaa/big-12/iowa-state
Interesting. The landscape is changing like it or not. Seems like the "collective" is something we probably need to be doing. If so we are already behind other teams in our conference.

As far as the 'cameo' thing I had briefly heard of it (but didn't really know about it). Now I am fully aware. The thing is, as one poster said previously, these new avenues to support athletes (collective, cameo, etc.) need to be made "easy" for us fans to contribute (if we want to, which is another thing I guess). It is not being publicized by ISU or this site, that I am aware. There are no easy 'links' yet. Therefore it is not 'easy' currently.

Do we have anything going like a collective yet, or in the works? Seems like it might be a minimum thing now if we want to stay in the game.

This is why I’d stop recruiting high end high schoolers. Take the transfers. Why develope talent for other schools. Make other schools do it for us.

That doesn’t sound like something Matt Campbell would allow. IMO that is a tradition that does not exist in the Culture at Iowa State. Completely contrary to what Matt Campbell requires. That is not being the best version of “you” that you can possibly be. TJ has requirements as well.
This is the most naive thing I've ever read.

It’s all of the above for a program like ours. You have to get the best HS talent you can, best transfers you can, retain them as best as you can

I would say no. That’s high. Especially for what’s likely to be one more year whether internet message board warriors think he’s ready or not at that point.
Okay, i didn't know how much coping I was doing.

Watching Williams play defense against Kendrick Davis of SMU, at 6'5", I think we have the defensive replacement already, so is Hunter's offense as sophomore worth 500k?

Not to say it wouldn't be a big loss to improving on last year. Both is clearly better, and Hunter will take a big step next year,. But if we're open to buying players for 500k, it is worth taking a peak at what that gets? All in a message board sense.

We’re not open to buying players for 500k.

Nah. Just have to get creative. Sign them to 4 year NIL deals when they sign with ISU. Then sue the crap out of any other booster program that offers him money to break that contract.

I'm not sure I'd want the reputation of being the school that gets 18 year olds (more than likely their families as they're usually not 18 at the time they commit) to get into binding non-competes etc. Easy way to kill your program IMO.

Someone is 100% going to try that though. Way too many programs out there for nobody to think of it

You can’t tie it to participation so of the little rules there are, one of them is you can’t force them to a multi-year thing like that
Huh, I'm actually stunned they bothered to think that far ahead on that part considering they didn't bother thinking about anything else on NIL stuff

Not thinking a complete non-compete as much as forcing the tampering rules. If the kid wants to enter the transfer portal, fine he can get out of the contract. But just use this to keep other programs from offering money to guys that haven't entered the transfer portal yet. Essentially using tort laws to enforce the rules that the NCAA won't.

Give me just a little break here....I have no idea how they work. How was I supposed to know NIL deals don't 'involve' the school? So you're saying since it comes from private donors and businesses, none of it has to be reported? (besides IRS)
So are you saying Boone Pickens can just contact said player from Okie State and offer and/or march into the basketball office and lay down a couple million for NIL deals? Or its all done personally from donor to player? If so, what a zoo.
NIL does not involve the school, at least directly. So ZOO it is.

The people that are 100% convinced that this is a baseless rumor and that he isn’t going anywhere are going to be very disappointed.

Ya this is just completely plausible scenario for any decent player in CBB. Even moreso for really good players. Should be thinking it can happen at all times.
