ISU News and Tweets

It may have been mentioned in another thread, as I haven't stayed caught up today, but did anyone else see the end of the TBS crew after the late game last night? Only LOCK they mentioned was... Miami. Can't say Scott Drew butted in to argue either. Then sports radio today really lauded the Miami coach and how his teams adjust and other coaches can't match it. Guess we really are the underdog. They made it sound alot more like an 11 against a 3 instead of an 11 vs. a 10. But that's okay.....there were some ugly games people know alot about. We have to play our 'A' game.
Recency bias that “experts” are guilty of constantly. They act like Miami is going to play exactly like they played against Auburn.

I'm confused how when Campbell said something about it "not being a goal we set" but that we just try to be the best version of ourselves everyday everybody totally raked him over the coals. But when TJ says we aren't big into goals, we just try to be our best and remember our habits nobody is crucifying him.

It is the same philosophy.

I guess the difference is this year Campbell's team didn't meet everyone's expectations while TJ's exceeded them. I suppose in a year when TJ's team has high expectations piled on it and they come up short everyone will pile on.

I can't wait...
Can't wait for what?

I get that, but what worries me is the fact that they have multiple guys going for 10 plus a game. Our defense is really good at taking out ONE elite scorer and winning, but the games we have lost this year seemed to be against teams with multiple threats to get 20 ish.

Remember, this is the same TBS crew that had Iowa and Kentucky in the Final Four. They've already proved they don't know squat.

They have 3 good scorers, not 3 elite scorers. They also have one of the lowest scoring benches in the nation.

Their record this season is 1-6 when they score less than 65 points, and if there's a team still left in the tournament that can hold them under 65 points, it's Iowa State.

Joe Fortenbaugh on ESPN ripping ISU: “ISU is a terrible free throw shooting team and a terrible 3 point shooting team. ISU commits a ton of turnovers and Miami doesn’t. We were very fortunate against LSU and WI, where both teams combined to shoot 6-41 from deep, that’s 14%. That’s not going to happen again. Miami is going to score, Miami is going to win.” ( not a direct quote)
That guy could break into my house and hand me a piping hot pizza and I still wouldn’t know who the **** he was

Coincidentally Miami is 4-29 in their first two games from 3 - also 14%

A good mix is probably the best option. If a player mixes up midrange, 3 attempts and taking it to the hole it forces defenders to play honest and you get better looks from all three.
Based upon my ability to miss from all 3 levels at old man basketball yesterday morning I'd say that I did not keep any defenders honest.

Been watching pregame stuff. Is ISU playing tonight?
Nobody’s talking about our game and nobody is going to be watching our game. They’ll be watching the UCLA North Carolina game. And I’m ok with that. Keep winning.
