TBS panel just previewed tomorrow night's game. Scott Drew said KU and ISU will win. Rex Chapman and Seth Davis both said their 'lock of the night' is Miami beating Iowa State. I love that those outside the Big 12 still aren't giving us credit. Are we the best team? No. But neither is Miami.

Cyclones win and pretty comfortably.

Maybe someone knows this: how much Sweet 16 experience does Miami have as a team? I think we have 0 players on the team that have played in a Sweet 16 game, correct?

I saw on CBS national morning show Miami is flying in a 14 year old kid who's battling heart issues. So Miami has the sentimental / heart strings angle.
A true freshman starting at PG for a Sweet Sixteen team that won 2 games last year, who lost both his parents by the age of 12 and was raised by his brother says hi.

SportsbookWire picks Iowa State winning 66-62:

Iowa State has the second-best adjusted defensive efficiency out of the 16 remaining NCAA Tournament teams, according to KenPom. Defense is more reliable than offense as teams have off-shooting nights all the time. But, I’d expect a top-ranked defense to be locked in for an elimination game.

Furthermore, Miami’s defense cannot stop a nosebleed and struggle to close out defensive possessions. The Hurricanes are 298th in defensive effective field goal shooting and 265th in defensive rebounding rate.

Essentially, I have more faith that Iowa State’s weak offense can find success against Miami’s terrible defense. However, I cannot say the same about Miami’s offense versus Iowa State’s defense.

Finally, Iowa State played a tougher conference schedule, had five more Quad 1 wins than Miami this season and college basketball guru Ken Pomeroy actually makes the Cyclones a 1-point favorite in his Iowa State-Miami game preview.

Anybody who watches ISU is doubtful on how they win. Even though they have beat 5 and 3 seed.

We will find out if Scott was being biased towards the big 12 or he actually thinks we have a good chance as he has scouted againt us.
