7 seed in KC here we come...

It sucks with how expectations grew early in the season, but you just have to be happy with the fact that we are a tournament team in year 1.

A degree of expectations rising was over hype but there was a solid portion reasonably based on the play the team showed it could (surprisingly) achieve. I am almost as surprised by how quick it evaporated as I was at how it happened in the first place.

Weirdest season ever. It's been like "No Clone Cone for you!" to "Here, have this Clone Cone!" to "Dropped Clone Cone and it's melting on the concourse floor".

If there was ever a season where fans could benefit from remembering the following axiom, this was it.

When things are good they are never as good as they seem and when things are bad they are never as bad as they seem.

I will admit that last season tested the second half of that...

Anybody need a couple tickets for the Wednesday or Thursday morning games? I listed on the AXS site, but guessing there won't be much interest on there..

Has the ever been a league like this year in the Big 12 where you can be a 7 seed in your conference tournament and the same seed in the national tournament?

Can any one summarize what TJ said on postgame? Thanks!

In addition to the presser, here, I listened to TJ's comments postgame (the "Lockeroom Report" I think it's called, on Wed with John and Eric (and listened again just now). What stood out to me is that he did not blame anybody specifically. He said we played out of character, didn't play against their zone well, though we practice against it quite a bit. (OSU used the zone alot more than in the first meeting and he knew they were going to change things up). Their switching defenses threw us off guard, we got tentative, they played well and are very good, very long and athletic, gave credit to them. We weren't sharp or crisp and need to be much more "intentional". We are not the most athletic, etc.

In short he said we played out of character, and the things OSU did, etc. threw us completely out of our game. Said we need to get back to playing with a 'chip on our shoulder'. We are not fancy or ultra skilled, we have to play with a chip on our shoulder at all times and that wasn't present tonight. That's what we had been doing the past couple of weeks. We gotta turn around, get back to that and 'flush' this one.

He spoke perfectly really considering the game that was just played.

Can't think of examples off-hand, but it's common to have NCAAT seed higher than conference tournament seeding. A notable example, if league standings are tight and tie-breakers apply for seeding, and conference has several overall resumes that are strong on the S-curve.

In WBB, but similar concept, seems like Twister Sisters have had several cases over the years.
