Not exactly sure.
Has anybody talked about how terrible King McClure was on color commentary tonight? My god... He was atrocious. Playing WVU always makes me stabby anyway. And I get that it's tough for them not being courtside. But man, you're not just watching another game in your living room my dude. You are supposed to provide some insight.
He was courtside last game of ours he did.

When they were going to have ISU inbound under the the WV basket when ISU was in the bonus made me laugh. When a guy drinking beer laying on the couch is more aware of the situation then the refs, that is bad.
Next half they were going to have WV shoot free throws when we got our 6th foul.

Yeah, i usually don't have a huge problem with him unlike some, but he was awful tonight.

They seriously had no clue of some of the most basic stuff.

I'm not going to nitpick on fouls as it is what it is... but poor refs tend to give back a make up call very easily... they did multiple times in ISU favor where WVU hardly ever touched.

The first half they missed 3 of the most basic travels I have ever seen. The one following the block on Rob Jones right at the end of the half??? My word.

I disagree. Huggins has always been honest both downplaying his coaching and giving credit to his players. But when push comes to shove he holds players accountable for their actions as well. The reality is that losing Oscar T. to Kentucky due to tampering really undercut his program. I don’t think he is close to hanging it up but I think this team doesn’t have the intangibles that many of his past squads have had.

I agree with the above statement. I don’t feel he threw them under the bus. Hell, he was absolutely genuine! I’ve always liked Huggy Bear.

That is pretty much throwing your team under the bus, he is not wrong, but man it is not a good look.

Huggs might hang it up after this year, he really sounds like he is done with the coaching thing and dealing with todays players

I effing hope so. Tired of Huggy Ball aka "can't call them all!"

Fwiw, I agree with my fouling there given the game flow... Isu was getting its butts kicked on the offensive boards, and these refs weren't above calling fouls on rebounds. Those two together make a dangerous threat.

My logical mind agrees with you. My heart says let them shoot a long 3, since it is guaranteed you won't lose in regulation.

On that play, they didn't have a great chance to foul, though. I wouldn't foul in the backcourt and I'm not sure I want Jaz lunging at a guard who is about to chuck up a 35 footer.

Also, I was less worried about a rebound of a 3 pointer as I would be of a rebound of a missed free throw with 4 seconds left.

The bottle is calling; perhaps he'll answer the call and hang it up.

He was better that game. This one seemed like he was pulling for WV.
Absolutely very obvious that McClure was against ISU tonight. He must have his reasons. WV guy runs over GK who is standing in the lane, McClure says "That should have been an and-one." When a call goes (rightfully) for ISU, he's like, "Hmmmm, not sure about that!" I don't recall how long ago he played, but it was likely against some tough State teams. I recall we upset Baylor for the Big 12 Tournament title a few years ago. Maybe he begrudges us for that?

I thought King brought more energy tonight and I agreed with every call he disagreed with or agreed with. Some of you or so blinded by the cardinal glasses. Like going to a WBB game in Hilton or a MBB game in Manhattan. There’s never a foul on the home team.
I thought his opinions on calls were actually fine. It was the total lack of energy and insight that bothered me. Like he couldn't be bothered to care about the game. And it was a close game for the most part, with a great last few minutes. I didn't even think he was pro-WVU or anti-ISU; he was just bad at his job tonight.

Not his fault but his calls are so late. Brockington throws it down, wvu inbounds it, and he goes OMG brockington with the great throw down. Check out Keith Murphy’s video on Twitter on the fan sounds after that dunk. You get absolutely none of that with this broadcast. Not a king fan but he would sound much more in tune at location.

Is it common when there is a lead change under 30 seconds to stop the clock and check the time at the monitor? After IB made the basket to give us the lead WV was out of timeouts and rattled and the refs stopped the game and sent both teams to their benches to check the clock. imo WV should not have gotten a free timeout.

It’s a stupid rule but yes it’s common. Have to fix the clock right away.
