This team has just tied the ISU record for improvement in wins from one season to the next at +17 wins. The record is also held by the 1999-2000 Iowa State teams coached by LE, who went from 15-15 in '99 to 32-5 in '00.

Best part? That legendary Cyclone team needed the Big 12/NCAA tournaments to achieve that record. We aren't even there yet with this team.

I ****ing love this group of guys. They never stop fighting. Bunch of straight up ballers. Brockington with a huge night but Gabe came up huge late with 2 3's and the 2 ft late. I've seen Gabe get alot of grief on here and social media but this team wouldn't be where we are without him.
I know he's streaky shooting the ball, but Gabe impacts the game in so many other ways. He's been huge for this team this season without a doubt.

I completely get that rival fans tend to carry a bias...but this would be Exhibit A for admitting someone into the looney bin... "bad conference" l
They are just pissed because 80% of their fan base has never seen their favorite team in a sweet sixteen game. Pure jealously.

Seeing that inspired me to check the record book … Brockington’s 35 is the second-most single-game points since Mel’s 48 (Naz, 37, 2016 vs. Drake).

A quick count shows me only 18 players have scored 35 or more in at least one game (Hercle Ivy did it 8 times!)

(All this is subject to verification by Cyclone Fanatic Sports Experts Department.)

Does anyone feel bad for WV?

They are trash ass fans who should all suffer in many many ways. Will never feel bad for them. Should have never let their low class garbage into the Big XII.

The only team in the league I wish to never make the tourney. Not because any rivalry just because their tack unsportsmanlike fanbase.

I wanna see the heart rate line graph from people's smart watches.
1.3 miles in my 15 x 20 foot basement living room. In the second half alone.

That's a lot of pacing.

EDIT: I was pacing but cleaning and doing laundry so a bunch of back and forth between rooms. :)

I also changed my shirt at half to the shirt I wore on Saturday against OU. So I guess I have to wear this every game.

Mine was 'steady'.

I don't have one. BUT my HR was way up when Brockington stole it and put the 5 footer in near the end Didn't come back down until we closed it out!!! :)

3 more and it'll be the largest improvement for anyone.

Nice hard fought team win, Brockington was fabulous, Gabe was hitting shots. WV is always a tough out keep rolling.

Fun night at Hilton, wasn’t full by any means but those there made their presence felt. IB with a legendary performance, huge shots by Gabe down the stretch.

Thankfully they are not all this way. LIke every fanbase there are outliers.
You guys say this but I've never had anything but the finest hospitality from the hillbillies.

I had a long conversation with a couple sitting next to me a few weeks ago in Morgantown.

They seemed genuinely thankful I'd drive three hours out to watch their team.

Ours too, sure, but they seemed to appreciate opposing fans and having a home in the Big 12.

West Virginia is one of my favorite states. It is easily the most beautiful state east of the Rockies, has world-class outdoor activities of all types, and the people are nice and unassuming.

Largely agree. All in good fun and a little smack. Also just a little gun shy with WV teams and how they tend to be 'physical', overly so at times with Huggyball and the BB team.

I've lived in western VA, close to WV. The people there were nice and friendly.
