We better overhaul the entire roster minus Hunter. Are you blind?

Actually Kunc and Grill (yes, I realize he's a role player) are good bench players that will continue to improve. Enaruna might transfer considering he's losing playing time. He's hard to figure out but we know he's not doing something right on the defensive end. Or maybe offensive end for all I know. Just seems like untapped talent but maybe understanding the game is the issue. I have no clue.

i wonder if he wants or expects Tristan to play with more aggressiveness on both ends of the court. When you are playing defense, know your rotations, stay in front of your man etc and offense, don’t just take minutes make the most of them.

Agree. I mean Bohannon isn't great on defense yet Fran knows he's his best shot if he gets hot to make up for any defensive deficiency.
It was absolutely painful to see Grill struggle so much today when he's often been our best 3 pt. shooter. He works his butt off on defense so I'm not going to bash the kid. Why he's better on the road than in Hilton is mind boggling.

Grill seems nervous to me. The biggest sign of it is the speed at which he tries to get the ball out of his hands. He has zero interest in dribbling or looking towards the basket unless he’s actually going to shoot. Catches the pass and instantly looks to his side for a horizontal perimeter pass that accomplished nothing.

I don't watch UNI so maybe there's more to it than this, but are we sure AJ Green would be our savior? He's shooting under 40% against lesser competition he's face in the Big 12.

I also find it pretty cringeworthy that this post was even made. I'm fairly confident last year would have made a lot more sense if AJ was gonna jump, anyway.

Regardless, there will be a lot of players available in the portal this off-season, and lord knows there will be plenty to sell as it comes to offensive roles available IMO.

As much as I enjoyed the way the season started, having an old roster fall apart like this as the year goes on feels like we're right back to needing a complete overhaul. Hunter and a few minutes from Walker are all we got out of underclassmen today IIRC. Enaruna didn't get a minute.

I very much hope TJ is willing to commit to a more balanced approach building the team moving forward. As much as defense is important, I'm pretty convinced you need guys who can put it in the bucket above anything else. I don't really care if a player is individually weak on defense, you just need to get more skill on offense any way you can.

It’s so unfair to call it falling apart.

He will either play his redshirt/covid year in cedar Falls, or he will go to Europe and get paid to play.

The last few weeks? Compared to the first few months, including the first stretch of 5 games or so in conference? I'm not sure how it's really that unfair. I suppose I could have used nicer language, but my point is that it's hard for me to swallow that this isn't really a young roster, but one that likely will have to be mostly rebuilt in the off-season again.

Cringeworthy? I was stating the fact that here is a kid who is exactly what we need and we actually have a connection and it makes sense. My take was just our guards are just not scoring enough or consistently that a player of this caliber would be a huge boost.

However, I do understand that this team in need dire need of a low post scorer as well or a center who can hit a mid range jumper if we are going to play him constantly at the free throw line.

As a fanbase, we have to realize that the positives on defense and the improved play in how we run an offense compared to last year is refreshing.

I can say with a high level of confidence that AJ will either be playing in Cedar Falls or playing for money next year.

There was another high profile transfer situation at UNI and 10 year old AJ Green still holds a massive grudge on that one.

The 8-9 uni fans I know are still bitter about Dougie Buckets

I guess I mean that we're talking a player who hasn't even really hinted at transferring from my understanding. I don't disagree that he would help a lot on the court.

A name from The Valley that might actually be available is Antonio Reaves from Illinois State. He's averaging 19.5 PPG during league play and has had several really good offensive games over the last two years. Very good shooter, is able to get his own and a really good defender as well.

Illinois State announced that Dan Muller is out after this year.
