She is in a bad mental state. She's a mess. The pressure has clearly gotten to her. Hope she can pull it together for her sake.
Thankfully she seemed way more upbeat than the interview the other day when she had the 2 DNFs. That was a hard watch.
What about athletes that defect to authoritarian regime led countries that violate human rights for huge marketing deals, and will not speak out against these human rights issues?
Little salty about Eileen Gu are you? She decided to make her money in China instead of America it will be interesting to see if American companies throw money at her also.
Not everyone has to be a political activist, she can just be a skier and it's ok.
Good, I wasn't the only one that noticed this. The Olympics themselves are a hotbed of stress for athletes, but DNFs in your first two runs has got to be nerve-racking.
Im kind of down on Olympics and World Cup. Combo of treatment of wrestling and the frequently tyrannical host locations.
You can either appreciate good performances or just be a homer and only cheer for US stuff. It will make things easier if you pick one of those and not worry about the weeds while watching.
If she did defect, let her deal with the mess that she made for herself.
It’s ok to criticize her too though when she gets super political and lies that any Chinese person can use uncensored internet. her comments were immediately…surprise…censored.
Since she’s being marketed as the most intelligent woman in world history, it’s that much harder to cut her slack on what can only be a lie or an incredible lack of empathy.

She’s lying to the Chinese people but ironically the lies are getting censored before they get to them.
I don’t even think about American people when it comes to that story, just another case of Chinese common man stomped by privileged elite. A little personal to me because I’ve known indoctrinated Chinese.
That sport is pretty much insane.

The one Japanese kid hit 22', 23' and 24' respectively on his 3 runs. It was insane.
