I think they took a step backward, myself. I think Kansas has been using the Portal the most effectively.
I’m not so sure on Oklahoma. Might not be as talented, but they’ll likely me more of a “team,” if that makes sense.
Kansas has been doing very well in the portal also, obviously.
Interesting UNI transfer. No idea if we’d pursue or if he wants to stay in state

We are we not doing much in the portal??? Could really use an experienced TE, DE, CB and a kicker.

I agree with a few of those spots. Mostly kicker and TE.
Concur! Besides some kid from Delaware, Campbell has done nothing with the portal. He could not use all his fame to get some high value players who departed power 5 schools? Not impressed and I expected more. Sorry to be negative but we should have higher expectations now.
The DL from Minnesota could be a nice depth piece. Transfer season is not over.

We also added the Minnesota DL and have 3 starters coming back for a bonus year. Scholarships aren't unlimited.
I think that Reeder is an immediate starter. Anderson at DE has a decent chance to start as well, although Blake Peterson will give him a run. At the very least, he's in the rotation. McDonald coming back helps a lot here...I think we're fine at DE.
The thing that none of us know is how the younger players are doing in practice. At TE, we've heard them talk up Dean a bunch. It just so happens he was behind two of the best TEs ever to play at ISU. They know what they have in Dean, Hanika and Moore and the FR Keller looks to be really good. If they think they can roll with that group, I'm on board with that. Obviously, we probably end up in fewer 3 TE sets next year, but I could see Shaw playing more of a Kolar role with Dean being Chase Allen. At K, they signed some pretty good walk-ons last year. Who's to say that one of those guys isn't the answer? They've shown that they're not afraid to hit the portal for a K, so if they don't, they must be comfortable with who they have.
CB is a real question for me. I think that Purchase showed a lot of promise. Tampa really needs to take a step forward. It seems like Johnson is moving to Safety, but no one has said that officially yet. I do not think that Datrone Young is a loss. But maybe Tayvonn Kyle puts it all together? I don't know...I'd really like to see them grab a transfer here just to up the competition and depth.
Why aren’t we getting every Alabama and Georgia player that enters the portal!!! They all want to come to Iowa State. CMON Campbell!!!
Campbell has never operated in that manner in ANY aspect of his program. He doesn’t hire coaches that way or get many players that way. If you want to be part of this program you have to be of high character, have a passion for the game and fit with the culture already established. It doesn’t matter where the kids are coming from they aren’t getting recruited if the don’t exhibit those things. And if he departs from that practice in the name of “talent” only, his program will go in the shitter.
