Tech had an extra game thrown in last Thursday due to OSU's early season Covid issues. I'm guessing they are a little worn out with all those games and being shorthanded themselves. That probably affected them against KSU, and hopefully against us. However, they will be at home and charged up to avenge their loss. I'll probably pick Tech, but I could see it going either way.

Way up there
I think it'll be a little bit like the situation Texas walked in to against us, Tech will be ready to bounce back and play well. We'll need to play really well to win. We will be good enough defensively to hang around as long as we get someone going offensively. Hopefully Gabe's hot shooting can open some things up for IB to get going, he's due, so is Grill.

So many games in this league come down to how the game is officiated. Which is sad.

What close game doesn't come down to that.

You can either focus on that and hope you get a break or you can play through it and control your destiny. The challenge this year in the Big XII is that these games are all so intense and at such a high level that is hard for any but the most experienced officials to keep up.

I was as pissed about the missed goal tending at KU as anyone but still, Gabe makes that three and it doesn't matter or pick a dozen other plays to execute on better. It certainly wasn't our best played game.

Did you see yesterday's scores and who won/loss? There is no easy stretch in B12 play. Even TCU won yesterday over OU.

OSU beat #1 Baylor AT BAYLOR
KSU beat #19Tech
TCU beat OU
#15ISU beat #21UT

and the only game with a lopsided win was KU over WVU 85-59

It's a guantlet. But it seems that people know it too. Right now Iowa State is ranked 15th in the country even though it's in 7th place in the Big 12....and I think we were 8th place before beating Texas yesterday.

Ohio State is the 16th ranked team and is the 3rd place in the Big Ten...Xavier is the 17th ranked team and is the 3rd place in the Big East....Kentucky is the 18th ranked team and is the 3rd place team in the SEC.

And we're ranked 1 spot behind Villanova which is the 1st place team in the Big East and are two spots behind Wisconsin which is in 2nd place in the Big Ten.

Not sure but maybe I'll skip watching this one. I'm kinda joking, but maybe I shouldn't be. Doubt if 2 weeks will make much difference in how this game will be played OR officiated. Not sure we ever got into an offense and they certainly don't allow points in the paint. Can't imagine anyone looks forward to playing them much less after that loss to KState. Would be interested what's going on inside our players heads about playing them again so soon. Guess they'll know what to expect. But so will Tech.

Nobody has had to worry as much about Kalscheur the last few games.

But with him busting out for 22 points yesterday (and 14 against Kansas) it creates another problem for Texas Tech's defense. Obviously it's harder to have to defense two guys instead of just one.

I suspect we’ll be underdogs by at least 5. Happy that KSU won as it keeps things even more wide open in terms of Big 12 standings, but probably lit a fire under Tech (as though it wasn’t going to be a hard enough game already).

Texas was a huge win as we very well could have been looking at 1-5. 2-4 seems a lot more respectable in this brutal early stretch. As others have noted our schedule gets comparatively easier although certainly not “easy”. No gimmes this year.

Why are we playing Tech so quick after playing them the first time?

Scheduling quirks, it happens sometimes. At least once a yr it seems the WBB team play a team within 2 wks. Personally I'll be glad to have TT out of the way. Not that all the games will be a challenge it seems.
