Anyone know why they sent out Broderson instead of Devine? Did he beat him out or one of those "let's see where were at" kind of deals? I liked what I saw from Julian. He battled through some situations where the CSBU guy got in on a leg.

Dresser said in the post meet press conference that Devine is still #1, but they're giving Julian a chance to get some matches in and potentially challenge Joel. If I had to guess, I think Joel is the guy in March but Julian will push him

I like that. Is that going to end up screwing with a AQ spot for the conference though?

Dresser will find a way to ensure whoever the guy is has enough matches for the RPI to get an AQ spot (Last Chance Open is on the schedule)

Yonger is all go. Shot after shot

Obviously I love watching Carr. The guy is just a master of his craft. But if I have to pick a guy I can't wait to watch it's Bastida. Part of it is that he's still learning so much of the ground stuff. He got reversed yesterday and you just kind of never know what to expect with him other than the fact that he's just constantly going to be pressuring the other guy.

How'd your son enjoy the dual?

Got tickets from somebody else so we were literally front row, section 132, seats 14 and 15 so we were right front and center. My son basically has 1 move right now he's comfortable with, the half nelson, so when Carr got a pin out of it he was pretty stoked. He told me he had a good time, but I also let him have some Mt. Dew in Johnny's beforehand, so things started out strong for him.

He wasn’t nice about it last night either, that action with the bar and the half hurts like hell.

It was brutal. If he’s going to make a case for the Hodge, that is how he needs to go after everyone. I always think about Zain Retherford. He used to just beat the **** out of people. I’ve honestly thought Carr has been too “nice” before. Not now, and that’s good.
