Random Thoughts 15: Crystal Clear 2021 Edition

I passed on a chance to make some extra money over the holidays. Anya texted me asking me to take the first couple hours of her Starbucks shift on Xmas Eve. She called me Brenna so maybe she really didn't want ME to fill in for her. ;)

Probably won't have worked as would probably have gone all......

Is Anya perchance Monique’s friend? Wasn’t that your French girlfriends name?
 
Got paged for work. Trying for the life of me why the VPN dropping was assigned to the mainframe automation team. One of the other guys got called as well, I told him to send it to the helpdesk.
I sent a message to the person who opened it asking why he would assign it to us, naturally he never responded.

You guys the only 2 people working? I feel like this close to a holiday manager's just look for whoever has a green light on skype.

Of course he didn't respond - his VPN is down!!!!!!

He's probably in his hot tub with Anya and Brenna.

It was entirely in jest. I can still receive messages through some platforms when my VPN is down. It was more to reflect that so many people when they experience an IT problem just stop trying to do anything and use it as an excuse to screw around.

That is true, If l am in TEAMS and disconnect my VPN as long as I am active on my PC I still show active on TEAMS

Just got back from our sales meeting in St Louis. When I arrived a guy was cursing at my boss as the guy was there to replace toilet as it leaked. The guy was a total douche. Later on that day the other toilet wouldn’t flush so our only option was kybo about 1/2 block away. Me? Well…. When bushes are close by in a secluded area, my tailgating instincts kicked in.

You know most of those bushes that they have inside businesses are fake don’t you?

We have to be on the VPN to get on Teams but then it will be good for the rest of the day. Outlook on the other hand has to be on the VPN to work, granted I have to be on it to connect to the servers and internal stuff anyway.

I will give them credit the VPN stability has greatly improved since March 2020. I do look at the list of locations to connect through in the morning and debate where I should go that day. Usually Dallas or LA, Chicago tends to fill up first.

Actually that could have been pretty entertaining just show up and watch the fun begin.
