Xavier Townsend decommits

I knew NIL would have a chance to kill us. The whole thing was rolled out with zero regulations, rules, limits, etc. It should have been capped or a standard stipend per player or something like that. **** all the people who kept saying this would be great for the sport. The rich getting richer is all this was and why so many of the big players were all for it.

Haven't read thru all the posts to know. Is there NIL smoke or is it all rumors?
He committed to ISU pre UCF B12 invite. That has changed.

yawn. When people are getting $50k just to be a Offensive lineman, ISU's "student athlete academic incentive plan" is about 1000 steps behind the times.
I don’t disagree, but there were several posts that seemed to indicate that they weren’t even aware of this. More definitely needs to be done by the AD. GrinIron club seems like an obvious organization to help, as well.

It’s bad timing to be behind.

The next couple years are crucial for this programs long term staying power.

seems odd. Tweet is from Dec 10, not sure when this game was played

The Gridiron Club is good but they present what a $350K check once a year to the AD for Football?

That's actually pretty pathetic, not by the Club, but by our donor base.

Man that sucks. That really really sucks. I didn’t think we were gonna lose him.

NIL has us screwed, doesn’t it.

Yeah, NIL is going to completely ruin college FB. The bluebloods are going to bring in 35 guys a year, pay them a NIL, and then cast off 35 guys that didn't meet their expectations. Probably a good thing Texas is getting out of the league. They would just start buying recruits from other big 12 team the night before signing day.

Right. Exactly.

Again, my point is that more should be done and that some aren’t even aware of what ISU is doing. Some acted as though ISU was against this, they aren’t. We announced our incentive plan before TExas did, but of course they passed us on the shoulder with “private” help. I know that ISU has a group that helps players vet NIL Opportunities. Again, but AD and FANS need to do more. Time to up those Cyclonew Club donations or engage the AD with direct NIL offers.

Again, I agree and feel like everyone wants to debate what I post. My point was that a “private” FB only club exists. They are updating their
board of directors. Might be a good time to reevaluate their mission and engage fans, donors and the AD differently.

Our donor base is only part of the issue, it’s the non-donors that are another problem. Many members here don’t donate. Some of those same people are losing their @&#$ in this thread.
