***CFB Conference Championship Games Thread***

The problem with the winner of the conference championship game getting an automatic bid is when one division has 3 or 4 teams better than the best team in the other division.... like the B1G this year.

Iowa is the 4th or 5th best B1G team this season.... yet they are in the championship game. That's not right.... especially when they didn't even play the top 3 teams in the conference this season.
That’s the b1g’s problem.

yep! here we go! think about how much luck is involved with what just happend.

Ball goes through the hands of the receiver for an easy 1st down.
then the ball bounces the opposite way to a guy that is out of position just standing there. they have done that like 20 times this year. crazy.

Yes it is.... but until it's fixed... it's a joke. No way Iowa should have a shot at the CFP this year.... and in your scenario they would... they'd just have to win tonight.

Honestly has to be the 8th or 9th tip right into a defenders hands this season. ISU has had that many in the last 5 seasons… maybe.

What was Campbell doing way back there... playing safety?

Not even trying to get a first down there. 2nd and 23, let’s try to get a chunk of yards? Nawwww, we’re good. We’ll just punt.

Again EVERYONE with a brain wants this, and may that actually happen sooner rather than later.

But we were/are discussing the merits of Iowa making the CFP in THIS current system.
No we’re not. Jukebox (and others) are discussing a hypothetical where CCGs are considered elimination games for CFP.

edit: I missed the earlier post where Jukebox literally said “in this system.”

Yeah that's a pretty popular opinion, but the one thing is there would still be at-large spots. That's the system most want. Not everyone, but polls taken is some form of that to fans back that up. Whether it's 8 or 12 teams.

ha I think they have an argument to get in in the hypothetical that they won (and should definitely be in over any other big 10 team) - whether or not they get in is another story

gary barta is the cfb comittee selection chair and iowa will have won a conference championship which is supposed to put them higher according the criteria on their website

however the whole thing is a joke
