Im new to basketball games and haven’t picked up on some of the crowd traditions quite yet. Can someone tell me during the opposing team’s introductions what the clapping thing is. Is it like 5 claps or something. I havent picked up on it yet.

Yes, since at least the 70's. Five claps then dead silence is how it is supposed to go down.
They do this weird thing where everyone takes their shirts off after the first basket and swings them over the head.
They're students. They are not constrained by "professional" behavior requirements.
When Mizzou comes to town, and their coach gets up and fusses, make sure you yell: "Sit DOWN Norm! Sit DOWN Norm!" Old school style.
....yeah...definitely just the student section....not me in the rafters.
Or cap guns (anyone old enough around here to get that?)
