If ND takes our coach, I say we do a swap similar to chizik/ Rhoads hire, they take our HC and we hire their DC freeman.
I wish it were that simple.

Well, my son, I can only tell you it won't be Matt Campbell.@Pope any insight on who ND is gonna hire?
True.
Campbell only has to be the favorite of the AD to get the job though.
Probably because he doesn’t know yet. And there will be other times he doesn’t know. It does no good for that to be said by Campbell.I will never understand this logic, where it’s so burdensome to mouth the words “I’m not leaving ISU”. You’re paid millions of dollars a year, I’m pretty sure the money can heal those lip blisters you’d never get from stomping down rumors. We act like he’d have to spend weeks every year denying this. Just dumb.
Maybe.
Wasn't TJ passed over even though he was JP's guy?
I can't believe donors don't have some sway.

He could lie, and say he has no interest. I think he should. If he leaves, it doesn’t matter to ISU he lied, he’s gone. If he lies, but doesn’t get the offer, all good as well.
Steve Leath overuled JP on that. JP was quickly going to go with TJ.Maybe.

That’s head-in-the-sand coaches speak. There’s most definitely something to comment on. Anyone that recruits or follows recruiting knows that. I’m assuming he crafts a better response for recruits. As he said after the TCU game, he doesn't have a comment because there's nothing to comment on.

I prefer he just lie. At least do that for Iowa St.
why’s that? And if you listened to the AD he wasn’t describing an assistant when he said what he was looking for.
But, does he **** in the woods?
ND wasn’t open then. ND is a whole different ball game. I don’t think they want him, at least not the first or even fourth choice, so I’m not sweating it.As he said after the TCU game, he doesn't have a comment because there's nothing to comment on.

Resorting to fallacies is a bad look by JP. No one expects every rumor. We’re talking a far more tangible thing. The Seattle Times and national media etc.And JP said last night there is no point in addressing every rumor that is out there

A general rule is if it’s something recruits are asking and wondering, it’s worth being commented on. Navigating how to give the impression you’re not interested without incriminating yourself is P5 coaching 101. And when in doubt, just lie. This is something Hoiberg failed at
Now that you feel that way I'm getting a little worriedI think we are toast.
