Campbell not going anywhere but home to his family

At some point fit has to matter. Matt on the west coast just doesn't seem like a good fit. If this was Notre Dame, then it would be a no-brainer as that would be a great fit for him. I think USC would be better off hiring someone familiar with the west coast.

While I don’t think Campbell leaves, the agent thing is overrated. He didn’t have an agent at Toledo either, and we we still signed him as our head coach before the end of the season.

Only after the end of the regular season, which I think is the point. We’ve just now entered into the most critical territory of news and negotiation. Anyone spouting off that he’s going to be XYZ’s coach before this time only had news of the desires of XYZ’s program.

I think the agent part is more about USC claiming he does when he doesn’t (or assumed he doesn’t) which means the USC people don’t have any clue.
I’ve seen several people specifically mention because he doesn’t have an agent, he wouldn’t even start talking to other schools until after the season, but his history has shown differently.

He was announced like the day after the season. Which means he was in talks for at least a week before.

No it doesn’t. He didn’t talk to us until after their regular season. Maybe after conference championship don’t remember. He would start talking at this point I think but he wouldn’t have answered the phone before yesterdays game was over.

If he has no agent, then it gets even more difficult. Before any discussions, the other AD has to contact our Athletics department to speak with Matt. At some point, the school has to directly talk to Matt in order to offer a contract and come to an agreement so JP will know the internet level at least at some point.

That's not a great analogy. With the legal position defined by Bob Bowlsby -- most didn't expect anything regarding ISU to the B1G until this legal uncertainty was/is-yet-to-be cleared up. That ended for the time being any and all mention of this by people actually in the know.

Not only that, as a result of the legal and other related uncertainty, there probably isn't anything that could reported right now anyway. Anything concrete.

I get what you are saying in the first sentence, though.

I very much hope Coach Campbell stays, and I believe it more likely than not that he will. A big new wild card, however, is not only conference realignment -- but what everyone has learned since all this talk began again just this year. USC apparently holds the keystone in the Pac 12. They will continue to whether Campbell were to leave to coach there or not -- even regardless of the results on the field. But it sounds like there is a strong possibility that USC might be aligned with the B1G in the future.
That will never happen. No way USC joins the B1G.

not true. Jp met with him and his wife after he lost the conference championship and worked his magic. Jp has said many times Matt wouldn’t talk to him until after the championship game

Swimmin' pools....movie starzzz.

Well, I'm packin up my game and I'ma head out west
Where real women come equipped wit' scripts and fake breasts
Find a nest in the hills, chill like Flynt
Buy an old drop-top, find a spot to pimp

Then I'ma Kid Rock-it up and down ya' block
With a bottle of scotch and watch lotsa crotch
Buy a yacht with a flag sayin' "chillin' the most"
Then rock that ***** up and down the coast

Give a toast to the sun
Drink with the stars
Get thrown in the mix
And get tossed outta bars

Sift to Tijuana
I want to roam
Find Motown telephones and come back home
Start an escort service for all the right reasons
And set up shop at the top of four seasons
Kid Rock, and I'm the Real Mccoy
And I'm headed out west, sucker 'cause I want to be a

Cowboy, baby

Property Taxes, upkeep and maintenance. Campbell would certainly have plenty of money. If you are buying a home because of speculation that prices will automatically keep increasing, you will eventually hit The point of the speculative bubble bursting.

Homes are a cost. Non-revenue producing asset. They may increase in value, but the next home will cost more as well. Realtor fees and closing costs are not cheap. People thinking a home will make them money is what leads to financial failure.

Nah, if you’re rich owning a home in socal just makes you more rich.

Other reasons he might not want USC job make more sense. My LA county property tax as a % is significantly lower than Iowa.

the cost of living crunch is for people who are renting or can’t afford their mortgage. It’s a serious and bad thing for many, but not for guys making 8 million a year.
