Stripe Hilton for Oregon State

The 'gold' nights for games worked well but I think those were well in advance.

I'll be disappointed if the student section doesn't have signs saying Cyclones can lick a beaver every day.

luckily my section is Cardinal because Cardinal is what I wear to BB games and I don't deviate.

Gold shirt = FB
Cardinal shirt = BB

The only way this works is if they schedule them before the season like we're doing with OU in February. I believe ToE color codes tix before football season as well.

Since there isn’t a game thread yet I’ll dump this in here.

Spent the first five years of my life in Corvallis, Oregon. Grandparents lived and died in this town originally named Marysville.

Land grant Ag School.

:Simple farmers. People of the land. You know, morons.gif:

Most older Oregon fans share a common affinity with Oregon State. We really only dislike each other during Civil War week, and then really not so much. We refer to them as our red headed special needs children 35 minutes to the North. They consider us dumbass hippies. Neither of us are really that wrong in our opinions.

I don’t know if the Beavers are good this year but they are generally a solid squad.

Should be a fun game to watch and I’ll be rooting for the Cyclones.

First a joke and then some trivia:

What is the difference between an Oregon State co-ed and a pig?

The pigs don’t have acne.

The trivia:

Sorority Rush occurs at some student union building whose name I do not recall. Prospective pledges gather inside until they receive their bids and then rush outside the building onto the grounds where the respective sorority groups have gathered to meet their new sisters.

Fraternity men also occasion the event, normally rosy cheeked from alcohol consumption, to observe.

The unofficial name for Oregon State sorority rush:

“The Running of the Pigs”.

Yes, Oregon has better looking co-eds than Oregon State. Reality is sometimes a harsh mistress.

Good luck this Friday.

@CycloneRulzzz is our game thread master. It'll be up promptly at midnite the day of the game.

I certainly wasn't complaining about CycloneRulzzz or the lack of a game thread.

The fingers type when they feel like typing.

I hope the Hilton stripe goes well.

It'll be interesting to see how the striping turns out. We can sort of do whole color games, if it's on the tickets it might work. Edit it's not on the tickets I predict a failure.

For what it's worth, it used to be ON the tickets back when the tickets were printed, but that was for color coded games (when the whole crowd was supposed to wear the same color).

Thank you for wearing a mask in your avatar so we can all be safer.

My network firewall only kills 99% of the incoming viruses.

Your mask will save me from the remaining 1%.

You are a good person.

Well, natch, that's what I'm doing.

Actually, a friend 'shopped that for me about 18 months ago. Without caving this thread, I will just say that Rasta will continue to wear her mask in symbolic solidarity with those who want the pandemic to end, and who are using the recommended mitigations and preventative measures necessary to slow the spread and get ahead of the death curve. If I could put a bandaid on her arm to indicate a vaccination site, I would.

It’s literally right on the ticket for the game. No reason someone can’t throw on a gold shirt when they see it after they download the ticket.

Not everyone has a gold shirt lying around. Sure I could get one, but we also don’t have any for our kids. Now I’m looking at $80-$100 worth of attire to get ready for the game. I’m not really complaining just wanted to bring up a reason why it doesn’t just happen.

Yeah, that's a big part of it. Especially for families...

Why is the lower section of 112 cardinal and the rest gold? They don't want to make the rich folks wear gold?
