the closest ref called that a TD and just got it wrong. No other ref ran in with a worse view and changed his TD call. Then the replay booth blew an obvious replay review.
so why when the officials with the best view gave ISU a TD…that actually likely was a TD, can the ref with the worst view run in and change their call.
this was way worse than OK State because it was four inexcusably bad calls against one team on critical scoring plays and potential game tying drive.OK st was just the one horrific call and ISU overcame it.
I think they’d also have overcome one or two really bad scoring play calls yesterdayeven with a poor performance. At some point it’s ridiculous to ask a team to overcome and we just need to be honest about mistakes on the level that they decided a game.
I just get tired of the narrative that winners overcome bad officiating that cause a 21-point differential in the game (+14 for the opponent; -7 for us), as if that's something all championship teams do on a weekly basis in their sleep. Newsflash - if that happens to OU yesterday they don't overcome it, either.
