Really stupid taunting call.

Worst call I've seen in college football this entire season. I had no issue with Matt losing his marbles on that one..
Those defending the ref..... watch other games, you will see much worse than what X did and it is not penalized 99.5% of the time.
Heck, just watch yesterday, I think it was Oklahoma's last TD. Their QB ran about 50 yards for a TD. The last 10 yards he was holding his arm straight up over his head, waving his arm with the ball in his hands and looking around. No flag. I don't think the ref even came over to him in the end zone to tell him to calm down, which you do see a lot. He "celebrated" or "taunted" or anything you want to call it, much more than what X did.
As some have noted, this had to be a ref that was just hell-bent on making a call against ISU, we will never know why.

I said when the call was made, if it was Alabama, OU, Texas or any other blue blood program, that isn’t called 100 out of 100 times. Since it was ISU, perfect time to flex your stripes.
Not exaggerating, I think you’d need to call about 1000 to 1500 taunting penalties a game for that not to be an atrocious call.
There are possibly as many as 15-30 acts like that per play on players from both teams. I don’t even think X was taunting, rather there are 15-30 cases of actual shoving, pushing, yapping, etc…
The cleanest least-taunting plays would probably get ten taunting flags. The worst might get 60 flags. Most defensive backs would average over one taunting penalty per snap because 100% of them taunt worse on every snap.

He is the play-by-play guy for ISU football and BB, has been since prior beloved play-by-play guy Pete Taylor died suddenly of a stroke in 2003. John Walters is great, one of the best! And that's saying a lot because we all loved Taylor!
His color guy is Eric Heft, a former ISU BB player/guard way back when. He's also good and compliments Walters well.

Wow. That sounds like an intentional 'hit by pitch' like in baseball payback! If true.
I like both of Campbell's reactions! Both signs of a great coach and one who cares.
