It's not perfect but is this seriously this big of a problem?
A lot of folks must be doing some fall re-seeding of their lawns.I feel old sometimes, but you guys must be a million years old.
Isn't an age thing. Ask an ISU student. The gimmicks make it almost a joke.
It's time for that to end. I recall in the 90s, during the McCarney days, a guy (usually without a shirt on in cold weather) in section D would stand up and yell that. Maybe that's how it got started. But it's time to chill out and turn down the volume so we can enjoy the game. That’s really a common thing in several football stadiums.

At least we don't have the obnoxious West Towne Pub guy anymore with his horrible ads.It does blow my mind how ******* loud our advertisements are. Stayed home Saturday and holy ****, we’re the only team in the world you can hear word for word the ads going on in the background

Jamie's subtle way of getting people to donate more to get better seats. Genius, really.I sit on the west side at the top of the lower level and the volume doesn't seem that bad. However, I went up to the top of the SW corner on Saturday to say hi to some friends and family and it was loud as sh!t up there. This isn't an age thing, there were a lot of young people complaining about it.
Are we seriously comparing the audio brought in for a touring show to the audio permanently hung in a stadium?U2 at Soldier Field 2017. Second level speakers about 2/3's of the way down the field. The show sounded exquisite and powerful.
It is not the size of the PA, it is the amplification that causes "awful" sound. Overdriving the amplifiers to produce maximum loudness will cause a huge spike in distortion.
The PA U2 used could easily be hauled by 2 tractor/trailers. The stadium was bursting with clean, deep, and clear music.

JP is a genius!! The upgrades will be flooding in!!
While Mack Brown may agree with many in this thread; Va Tech fans would find this thread amusing.

Yeah, I've never had an issue with noise at any ISU game, or any sporting event before, nor have my kids. My 13 year old was at the game with me and he was commenting how it was unbearably loud. Some of the music (intro song for sure) the speakers were cracking and it sounded like they were going to blow. I love being at loud sporting events. Given the record and KU the crowd was good and was loud. Having it be loud because you're pumping in music about every possible second and are trying to blow up the speakers isn't quite as fun.I sit on the west side at the top of the lower level and the volume doesn't seem that bad. This is our first season sitting in the upper deck on the North 20 yard line, about half way up. The view is pretty good, but we decided at the UNI game that we will not renew these seats next year. The speakers are just too loud.
On Saturday, we moved at halftime and squatted in some unused seats in section 31 (east side, south 20 yard line, just under the upper deck). Don't remember thinking about the sound there.

Maybe they will play some Kenny G for you...Would it kill them to play only light jazz at a low to medium volume so I can talk to my neighbors during the game?
Good gravy you are a bit too sensitive."there were a lot of young people complaining about it". ....... Geez, I don't think several posters on here will even believe you. Can't say I've ever had the old man w/cane graphic thrown at me before. LOL I feel so honored for being so misrepresented. But thank you for sharing your location comparisons.
