I scrolled back to see what I’d missed this morning—and found myself staring at the back of a bus. Just before 9:00 someone started zooming all over the place, for about fifteen minutes.
The interesting things were what appeared to be several electricians trucks near the base of the press tower…and this, across the street.
What would they need to skin off the grass for? Guess we’ll see.

What material is that black border? Looks somewhat like asphalt, however I'm certain it isn't.
I've been hoping it's some sort of black marble look-a-like material. The renderings leave a lot of wiggle room as to what it might be.
My guess would be a textured rock to discourage (psychologically) pedestrians from crossing it onto the grass. At least that's what I would have designed into it.
When I watched them put it down along the concourse, there was a skid loader just picking it up from a pile that had been pushed to the top of the hill next to the tunnel.
That’s why I’m moderately sure it’s just amended soil, and not finished.
I’d think they would have done that a month ago. Or at least, when they seeded west of the tunnel mouth.
It is a crushed asphalt base. They will cover this with some black landscaping rock eventually but that may not be done prior to the first game
Walked by quick tonight. You can see where the visitor semi goes and I don’t remember the sides being wrapped before. 
Those graphic wraps have been up there for at least the past couple seasons now.
