It seems to me that even watching in chronological order you should probably save BW for after endgame though, given it spoils Natasha's death.

You would be fine watching in the timeline order if you skipped the post-credits scene

Plus, once you've seen all the films, it doesn't really matter anymore. I still typically watch Star Wars in 4-5-1-2-3-6-7-8-9 order, and that's definitely the order I would use for introducing a new viewer. But once you've seen the twist in ESB, you can't spoil it for yourself upon further viewings.

Well, technically Loki takes place mostly outside of time, so it's hard to place Loki

The start happens essentially at the end of the first Avengers movie, as that is where the main Loki is from. If rumors are to be believed, the moment where they are talking and He Who Remains says he no longer knows the future lines up with Wanda going full Scarlet Witch.

They're legit. I don't know for certain that it was intentional or that anyone has confirmed it, but Wanda goes full Scarlet Witch at the exact same timestamp in the episode as He Who Remains says they've crossed the threshold (I just checked it out myself on Disney+). Seems like it'd be a wild coincidence if the two aren't connected.

I was wondering about this because I just finished my 2nd viewing of WandaVision yesterday, and Agatha Harkness tells Wanda that it is the Scarlet Witch that brings the end of the universe. It would also be in-line with Loki that Silvie's free will decision was actually initiated by Wanda's magic.

Boy, you guys might find me hiding over here in these nerd threads for a while with all that is going on Big 12 implosion-wise. I don't know about you guys, but when times get rough, I'm of more of the run and hide variety. It's worked out well for me in the past.

What things MCU related which have been announced so far are you guys most looking forward to? Here is my ranking:

  1. Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings
  2. Spider-Man: No Way Home
  3. Fantastic Four
  4. Blade
  5. Moon Knight
  6. Guardians of the Galaxy 3
  7. Thor: Love and Thunder
  8. Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
  9. The Eternals
  10. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
  11. Hawkeye
  12. Secret Wars
  13. The Marvels
  14. Armour Wars
  15. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
  16. She-Hulk
  17. Ms. Marvel
  18. Ironheart
  19. What If....?
FYI.... me ranking Black Panther so low isn't me bashing that world or characters, but more a testament to how much I loved Chadwick Boseman in the role and just can't get excited for Black Panther anything without him. Honestly, I would have preferred they recast the role, as there was still many more T'Challa stories needing to be told.

Way late to the party, but I was finally able to see Venom over the weekend. The only reason I bring it up is the poll that is still up in this thread, but wanted to share my thoughts anyway. I was a bit disappointed because as a kid I loved Spider-Man and the Venom story line of the symbiote latching onto Peter first and then onto Brock was one of my favorites. The Toby McGuire movie followed it pretty well but ruined it with the rushed nature and crowded feel of the movie, plus the cringe-worthy dance scene and hairdo. Once I could accept the different story I did actually find it entertaining. Even though it wasn't perfect and far from my favorite comic movie, I did rate it a thumbs up in the poll.

Cool to see you clearly feel different about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever than me. There likely is others along with you. Something interesting about my list as well is me having Shang-Chi as #1. Ask me that a couple years ago and I would have likely had that movie pretty low. However, I'm just really digging both who they cast in the lead and the trailers so far. Everything is just hitting a cord with me, what can I say?

I just think you and I have different opinions on Black Panther in general. I think you and I both don't view it as an upper tier MCU movie (although it's growing on me as time goes on), however I think you really loved Chadwick. I agree I think he's a special actor. But more than that, Black Panther is mythmaking and world building. The beginning of Black Panther is essentially Lord of the Rings - it establishes the world, shows us an animation to get settled in who people are, there are various other leaders within Wakanda who lead their own tribes, etc. What I love about BP is the world, and although I love Chadwick and think he was incredibly special, there are other great actors in the other roles as well.

I love Thor. Probably bad parenting on my part but my 4 year old loves Ragnarok. I've seen it a ton of times. That's easily what I'm most excited about.

Shang Chi, man I love kung fu. The cast seems fun. I think there just isn't anything for me to dislike here.

I think you hit the nail on the head with our differences. While neither of us are as high on the Black Panther movie as most, what I liked best about it was the characters of Black Panther, Killmonger, and Shuri, but especially Black Panther. I LOVED Chadwick in that role and the role itself. What I liked least about the movie is everything you liked, the world-building, the story, and the atrocious CGI. That last battle in particular was brutal on me with its terrible CGI, much of it taking place in the dark, and the shockingly small scope/feel to the outdoor battle. If it is supposed to be so big in scope like LOTR, why did that battle feel like a limited-budget backyard 20 on 30 brawl. It wasn't until the Infinity War brawl that I finally got the Wakandan army scope I wanted, which just screamed differences in budgets. Left a sour taste in my mouth. With that said, you are right, neither of us should be shocked that you are looking forward to the next movie and me not so much.
