PGA Championship

Bryson is an insufferable douche. I know a lot of people think he's good for the game but if he disappeared tomorrow, I wouldn't care one bit. He also likes to act like he can talk **** but Brooks has stuffed him a locker every time they've went back and forth. My personal favorite was when he said Brooks could say something to his face and the next morning Brooks did so. I'm not a big Brooks fan but it's impossible for me to root for Bryson in anything. At least with Patrick Reed I can appreciate the massive sociopath for what he really is.
I've been a Phil fan for the opposite reason -- he always seemed to me like a dude that goes out there and has a good time, is social, laughs a lot. Knows his place, too -- fully admits some of his decisions on the course are generally inadvisable, but does them anyway because that's how he rolls. I can appreciate that demeanor. I was happy to see Phil take this one over Brooks.

I want to say that I love Phil's game. He's been so much fun to watch. He's clearly funny, witty, and interactive with fans and the media. When he torched Faldo in the booth a year ago, it was the pinnacle of golf broadcasting. All that said, he cultivated this image of being the everyman and caring about every person he interacted with and when I went and watched him, Tiger, and maybe Ernie(?) at Medina, I just saw a different guy when the cameras weren't around and what I think actually bothered me is that the media wanted to drive the Tiger vs. Phil stuff with Phil being the friendly guy and Tiger being standoffish. Tiger was that but I saw that that was just how he was all the time. I saw Phil treat situations different before and after the round when he knew the cameras weren't there. Now that I'm a well adjusted adult, I don't really care as I now realize that's how it probably has to work. Now I just appreciate him for what he is rather than try and make it into more than a game.
