J&J and Astra both are being pulled in many countries due to blood clot issues..

It isn't necessarily what happens in that first week after getting these vaccines, it is what will or won't happen 1-2 years down the road or more. We have no clue bc we are using brand new technology in these vaccines for first time in human history.

I hope those who are feeling like crap feel better soon:(.

pretty much everyone who has had a reaction to the vaccine has felt better after a day.

the hand wringing over 24 hours of feeling like crap is crazy.

The J&J shot is the redhead stepchild of covid vaccines
Both the AstraZenica and J&J vaccines are spike proteins. They inject you with a virus that does not replicate in a human host with the COVID-19 protein spiked into the viral load.

Im curious if they’ll ever find out what is causing the side effects of these two vaccines. The carrier virus mutating unexpectedly?

My paranoia is what will kill me. Anytime I felt a muscle twitch or a slight discomfort after my first shot I braced for the worst. Ended up being completely fine.

After reading this thread and having my 2nd Pfizer shot scheduled for Tuesday:

Regarding your second paragraph, another reason we have less info is due to timeline of bringing the vaccines to use. Normally it is about a two year or so process, these hit in less than a year.

You will be ok. It may be unpleasant, but you will be ok. This is like the hysteria over the nasal swabs with people hyperbolically asserting that their brains had been scraped. The discomfort and pain of some are not to be poo-pooed, but you will be ok.

The speculation is that the JJ vaccine may cause a greater risk of complications when in use with other medications (ie, birth control pills), but it has not been investigated yet. All that is known is that those reportedly affected by the clots were women between 25 and 40. Given these drugs carry their own risk of clots, it will take some time to determine whether there is any correlation or to what degree the vaccine exacerbated the issue.

Given there is now plenty of supply of other vaccines, putting a hold on J&J is reasonable at this point.

I get being cautious, but six? Total? Out of how many given?
Yeah, that seems odd. Maybe they know something that isn't being shared publicly yet. They found the problem in 6 people, but it's not like they are monitoring every single person for blood clots. Other people could be having the same issue but don't know it yet. You'd think side effects like this would be found during trials, which makes me think the clotting issue is pretty rare. Then again, it is the FDA, who still refuses to approve drugs with decades of safety research like ivermectin.

Of course I was scheduled to get my J&J shot tomorrow. Now I have to get stabbed twice.

My wife was leaving the house to get her work shot of J&J this morning when I read about it. She made a couple calls, and whoever was vaccinating the staff there had already made the call to switch to Moderna. The clinic was going to be delayed until they could swap out supply, but only by about 30 minutes.

My first thought was that a fairly high number of those 7M doses were administered in the last 13 days so they want to make sure the rate isn't much higher than that and they haven't just seen it yet because it takes 6-13 days to show up. Also it's a effect that might not be noticed or associated with the vaccine so they probably need to reach out to on-the-ground physicians to see if there's more cases that haven't been reported.

Hopefully they'll communicate clearly what the situation is and why the pause occurred at the press conference this morning.

I'd give it a 50/50 chance of being communicated clearly or at least reported accurately.

I was amazed when most outlets had the gall to add 'at least' into the reports of studies showing at least 6 months protection recently.

Just got my second pfizer shot. The tracking device going in hurt a little more than the prep first shot. Excited to see what super powers develop.

Good sign that they have enough supply of alternatives in the mean time.

How long do the J&J doses last? If the start it back up can they use the doses that are being paused?

Also, it only affected women seems like they should use the J&J doses on men until there is more clarity. That is obviously a total non-medical professional take.

.
Make sure you post with your smartphone a selfie on any social media outlet you can find about how concerned you are about the tracking device.

Be sure to include where you are and who you're with and '@' anyone who shares your thoughts so they can rage post all over that.

I got my Pfizer #2 yesterday. I'm a bit sore/achy and might have a fever.
Whomever is monitoring my tracker is going to be really bored.
I was hoping my first Pfizer shot would at least boost my metabolism and cause me to lose weight. Nope, still fat

got Pfizer #2 yesterday and don't feel great this AM, but I'll be OK. The biggest downside is that I can't go get my free Krispy Kreme donut today (and every day). So no, Pfizer won't be a weight loss program for me.

They can be stored at higher temps (between 36 and 46 F) so you'd think they can survive holding off.
